I've read a few rumours that Chris Chinchilla has quit Art Brut.

 

Is this true ? Is this the end of the line for the Brut ? Was there a dramatic leaving post issued ?

Perhaps I should step into the breach - couldn't be too difficult, and I don't think all Art Brut's TV and media appearances would pose too much of a logistical problem for me!!

Freddie Feedback was there last night and didn't say anything in fact she was looking forward to the tour of Germany where they are pretty bid and on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine this month.

It used to be a fun group to be in, we'd play gigs, banter and take the piss out of each other but the last couple of weeks have been horrible.

I come in to the studio today and despite not being in yesterday it's just been a torrent of piss taking towards me from so many people that it is bordering on bullying and I am sick of it.

You can keep your shitty little band and all your messageboard fans, I've played with and met you and your rubbish and gay. I don't even know why half of you come on my website here as you never bother with any gigs and just take the piss out of the people who go, why not show everybody your little scrapbook you used to keep Freddie Feedback and all them newspaper cuttings you class A [****!!****] scarfer.

 

Eddie Argos, you might as well disband Art Brut today, it doesn't exsist anymore and you've turned into the biggest lightweight out of them all.

 

And Catskill likes The Others!

 

It has been fun and I do this with a heavy heart but I just haven't enjoyed this group in the last few weeks and I'm seriously worried about starting to dislike you all because of this but i love your company and I don't want to get to the point when i don't want to see you socially as well as chill out and jam with you guys.

Seems it is true but i'm sure the statement in the post above is just as accurate

As Chris was the driving force behind the music of Art Brut the pressure was on him to write new stuff.

 

Eddie as lyricist had bags of stuff from his previous band Art Goblins, which he kept slipping in as lyrics as and when needed.

 

The replacement for Chris this weekend at the Bestival festivsl is Jasper Future, an old time buddy of Eddie's who has kept on playing in the occaissional Art Goblins gigs that Sniffer, DA, and Tommy Collins attend.

 

The Video Club are now being drawn into this unholy mess as the main couple there are Art Goblins members.

 

All will come apparent on the 16th September in Kilburn, I expect.

 

How many members of this forum are coming to see fellow members EFMTVetc, Gertcha and Tommy Collins take the stage?

Gertcha told me this was no longer happening.

Yeah AB73 were forced to pull out for various reasons, that I won't go into on an internet forum.

 

However, we are joining forces with another band to guest on one of their songs. Or maybe we are just going to invade the stage in a drunken stupor.
