Imagine it...

Southport refuse to change the time for our game on Saturday forcing us to kick off at the same time as England.

So then Darren what would you have me do?

Refuse to reach the demands of the FA as I go and watch the Fleet or sit at home on my hands pretending to support England?

It has nothing to do with patriotism thats the line they use in order to get you to buy the product they're trying to sell.

Chelsea use "Your team needs you."

Just a thought here, but i for one do not believe you have to spend money on watching your team to justify being called a fan

We've been through all this on this forum before, of course. To me, there is a distinction between being a fan and a supporter; you can't really be the latter unless you're contributing/have contributed (in the case of exiles) to a club financially and/or by turning up to games on a regular basis.

And on the issue of England, I'm not really all that bothered how they get on, and haven't been for some time. And that has nothing to do with whether results are going well or badly; if we won the World Cup, I'd still feel a sense of disdain for some of the more odious characters in the national team.

I wondered how long it would be until you used the word 'Chelsea' again.

Harry J Allstars, the martyr.

'Oooh, we've attracted a Chelsea fan', everybody shouts.

Is that what you expected? Let me give you a hint:

NOBODY CARES WHAT TEAM YOU USED TO WATCH.

The club are pleased you now support The 'Fleet - we all are - but I'm sure nobody cares where you came from. It doesn't matter whether they come from a top flight team or whether we attract fans from other non-league sides, as long as we increase the fanbase.

The same about you ditching of your national side - I couldn't really care if you have decided to cheer on a different nation.

The only reason I commented is because I find it absolutely disgraceful that an Englishman rejoices in the defeat of the England national side - which you did in your original post!

Indeed and why did you think I started it? To draw attention to myself? Maybe, I can't answer that. However a lot of people seem to be saying that because I keep going on about Chelsea blah blah blah I'm looking for some sort of award for choosing to dessert them.

I'm not looking for praise, I feel guilty.

Also if you think I'm the one that has the worst problems on here your wrong. Look at Jeff for instance who seems to have tarrets, can't relpy to someone without swearing at them, very odd.

So then moving on I'll try not to let my anger and bitterness towards Chelsea shine through anymore.

Please lock this thread, oh to give FF back his moderatorship I hear you cry....

Its not hard to imagine, when we played Wales in the first game the Fleet kicked off at Burton at the same time.

I would have hoped you would have joined the hardy 70 or so Fleet souls that chose club over the armchair that day.

And if memory serves me well, it was the Fleet that insisted on the KO time remaining as was.

Harry - you're still missing my point.

I think this post from another person on confguide sums it up perfectly;

If you’re English then you should support England no matter what!

I don’t particularly like some of the players, and I certainly don’t like that **** of a manager but I was born in England and I live in England therefore I’m England through and through.

Players and managers come and go but wanting your home country to be beaten is the behaviour of the lowest of the low.

You've got to hand it to Harry-he can certainly get a thread stirred up. "Ouch, ouch I've been stung by stinging nettles" and such like-who gives a f*ck. This attention seeking is all down to low self esteem probably caused by something missing in Harry's life ( almost certainly a girlfriend I'd say ).

Seems since Longshanks departed Harry thinks it's his job to be "controversial" just for the hell of it and sadly we bite. Unfortunately he's neither got the brains or the boll*cks.

I'd suggest seeing a shrink-but then again can they actually do anything for a total idiot.

It's rather strange how a thread based on a football fan who has turned his attentions to non-league football and has lost interest in the national side (something that can't be that uncommon) can provoke such vitriolic replies.

Keep up the personal insults guys - it's very big and mature of you.

That said, the gloating was perhaps a little unwise, Harry. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
