New signings on the way?

Recommended Posts

From today's Herts Advertiser.

CITY have acted to strengthen their squad by putting in seven day approaches from Saturday's opponents Bedford Town and potential FA Cup opponents Chelmsford City.

Steve Cook and Gary Roberts have targeted Eagles defender Lee Harvey and City's ex-Sunderland and Luton Town striker Phil Gray as Saints aim to maintain their superb start to the season.

Gray, who also counts Oxford and Burnley amongst his former clubs, played in the old First Division for the Hatters and has 26 Northern Irish caps to his name.

Harvey, who also played at league level with Brentford is a firm favourite at the New Eyrie and won the Players' Player of the Year Award last season. It is hoped both players will be available for Saturday's clash at Bedford, with Saints missing several players.

Now Zealo, I realise you may in the first stages of jet lag so I'll type this very slowly for you. The one you are talking about (i.e. the one with all the hair) is the one that is now player/managing at Boreham Wood. The one we are interested in, is the one who played in the midfield for us a couple of seasons or so ago and who is now playing in the back four at Bedford.

See how it's possibly confusing, even to the less jet-lagged of us??
