well....that was an eye opener...this lot were right up for it and kept at it for 90 minutes....never looked like bothering us however in front of goal and as the game wore on they resorted more and more to ....errrr....kicking us.... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

 

their manager got sent off for abusing the ref and then their centre back followed him after deliberately kicking DH....a penalty farce followed that turned into a throw in and the manager told our fans that we had bought the league and now the ref..... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

 

left the pitch to the 100 odd urchins asking him very politely 'who ate all the pies'

 

quality stuff... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

 

bit disappointed in the game which was played at a frantic 100 miles per hour throughout and they scored a late consolation courtesy of a bad clearance from Mike (who had a very good game).

 

there No 3 is a very good player and all in all the right result with two disallowed for dodgy offsides...once again poor officials who seemed at times totally overawed with the noisy urchins and the pace of the game...crap pitch and if they play like that throughout the season they won't come to any harm....we can't expect teams to lay down for us and its quite obvious thus far that they won't...

 

their chairman a top chappie and very welcoming...

mr james tiberius kirk by the bar was one of the first to applaud the run for the 2nd goal which led to their manager not realising the offside rule. of course eastside was stood behind the goal and not in line with the lino as i was, so i'll bow to his impartial view on this.

Maybe Unc. Although I think the referee was subject to a certain amount of "intimidation" by the opposition players. (I'm being diplomatic here <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> )

Their numbers 5 & 2 should have been sent off just for the abuse they gave the lino...let alone for kicking lumps out of our fellas.

Anyway, nice to see that AFC's Passing Football, played in the spirit of the game, overcame Physical Brutality....YET AGAIN!

Well Done to J Lo and the lads.
Hope the bruises are not too bad this morning.

Sorry but about being a CATalyst in this, but I must say that the lineO who flagged Billy Holland Offside in the first half, got the decision right.

Ref should have book a few within a couple of minutes for discent and that might have stopped them moaning so much.

It was one of the most strangest things that at one point Sawbridgeworth even drown out our support.

MRS DTC said we have pitched our tent on a better surface than this.

Another 3 points in the bag only another 20 odd games to go.

There were some quality moments last night:

 

1. The bloke on the gate asking me what shirt I was wearing and getting confused when I told him it was Southampton;

 

2. James T Kirk (minus the corset) bossing the booze area;

 

3. Phil Mitchell running the line;

 

4. Sawbo Shaun losing it with treeboy; and

 

5. A good old knees up in the bar afterwards.

 

Oh!, and I believe a game of football was played!

Easy chaps... Never lost it with Tree boy- as far as I was concerned it was all good natured.

I have been barracked by bigger crowds than you lot that is for sure...

Already looking forward to the return..
