The Thanet-life site and those attached to it get thousands of hits, not from other sites but other Bloggers who may have no interest in MFC. Promoting he Dr's site may do MFC no good at all. What we need to do is to get the Official site and the history site to have links from things that matter and which are highly rated by Google.

Noticed that the rat Gale was at a garden party of Moore's. I think Margate fans should be very careful with who they associate or get to do photos for them. Check out Moore's website/Flickr/pages

Good to see you got there in the end. Sorry I didnt ring you...had to go off to work at 12.45 and have just got back home.

 

To careful, I dont think you have that much to be worried about. Look at his postings. He doesnt care about siding with particular Political parties. He criticises this Council for a number of things, in particular street cleaning and the Turner Contemporary. He doesnt block anti Council sentiments at all, in fact he encourages it. If you look at the comments on licensing for example you see comments from both Labour and Conservative Councillors.

 

And to webexpert, I dont see a problem with using the Thanet Life site at all, both sides win out of this, Margate FC gets great publicity and Thanet Life gets hits which makes it more authoritative. I see this as a very good thing. Simon Moores is clearly enthusiastic about Margate FC and wants to promote us.

James I am still however wondering how I was supposed to get to where you say on THANETLIFE from that link in your first post,without signing in!

 

Finally just to put things into perspective the "Turner Contemporary" will cost around £25 million wheras the recent spend on Manston Airport was only £17 million. Dosent that make you think?

Could buy another half an airport for the money being wasted on that art thing. Complete waste of time and a stone-wall certainty to be a white elephant. Just thought I would mention that seeing as though you mentioned the asaid construction.

a blog is short for web log...like a personal diary. A hit is a person going onto the site. Each person who goes onto a particular site gives that site a hit...an alternate word for visit.

He doesnt get anything financially. Important people who read his site would look at the hit numbers and see that his site is worth reading and taking into account. It gives more authority to it. It can influence.

You don't have to log on to Thanet Life simply type www.thanetlife.com unfortunately there's a Thanetlife.co.uk which does nothing.. under construction..imitation being , I suppose the sincerest form of flattery

Actually, I've turned off the the feature that allows other bloggers to randomly enter the site.. so it's pretty much all local interest or search engine traffic FYI
