update v Fisher

Not there tonight but seen Standen a few times and similarly think we will get significant improvement from him.

 

Pat Gradley improved during last season to the excellent player he is now, so maybe we need to be patient with Standen.

If you compare Standen with Benevides, he was truly shocking in the first few months of last season-even before he was played out of position-only player i have ever seen to run away from the ball!!.

However,and credit to benevides he improved considerably over the season into a decent player.

Standen is streets ahead of where Benevides was this time last season ,so i similarly think he will develop into a really good player for the gate

dont get me wrong i think he has been lacking in a lot of our games i some times wonder how he can start in front of brown & burke.

Was brayley the No.8 with the shaved head 'cos I thought he was quick,skillful and the effort,running and chasing was superb.

Great end to end stuff last night although one thing I noticed was the amount of space their right winger had-seemed he was on his own out there and a lot of their attacks came about through him.

Another TOP time was had by all though and a good attendance ( although I won't arrive just before K.O. in future as I pracically had to park in Garlinge-exaggeration but what a lot of cars-and don't get me on some of the crap parking-some people must think we all own Smart cars.

Definetly feels like the GOOD TIMES are back though.

Griffiths was lucky to have stayed on.His frustration was translated to a powerful forearm blow to my man off the matches face(Hasim Dean) shortly before he was taken off.Once Fisher had stopped show boating with fancy flicks in mid field and gate started to play the ball more on the ground,the boys had the measure of them. I don't know how much football Remy has played this year but he looks more the part than the guy he has replaced.It was great to see Greg Oates back to his best and skinning people down the side.Bill was also on top form.John Kiester was John,100%,though lucky not to be booked for one red mist trade mark tackle.Leon Braithwaite ran and ran and ran.They all should be proud. As for Fisher,they are all Midfield and forward line allowing there defense to play up and rely on the offside trap,when under pressure they are not that great.Counting leon who has only played a couple they were against an attack that does not know one another. I believe,NO i KNOW, the GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE are moving ONWARDS and UPWARDS. Roll on Cowes,there is a hatfull coming against someone soon.
