how comes we dont just buy wexham park, surely that will be cheaper then building a new one

not really financially viable. A 4,000 capacity ground (much like Burscough Town are having built) would cost in the region of £3million whwre as the Wexham Park site would cost twice as much.

WP is on prime housing land, and is therefore worth a LOT MORE than a piece of ground of that size should be.

47 acre piece of land purchases for £300,000 as Sports & Leisure land. Mayfair Communications (i.e. Byron Thorne) will now sit on that land until it is given the green light for housing to be built on it at which point it is valued at £1,000,000 per acre. A tidy profit of £46,700,000.

Yeah thats rougly the figure i heard 40-50 million, and i dont think we have that amount lyign about anywhere!

It was sold for the correct market price for green belt land. The Thorne's are speculating that it will eventually be removed from green belt. If it happens they will make a fortune, and in time it probably will happen.
