Have the tickets gone on sale for these train yet mate and if so how much?

I'm off that day so I could do the usual free trip on Midland Mainline then across on Central then meet you there.

I like the way nobody insulted me by asking if I was up for the half marathon, although I wouldn't say that this was gertchas thing either (I think Zeal and Laz and Costello will find out the hard way that it's not thier thing either )

Cameroon are the rumoured oppersition, although in my capacity as a bit of an expert in African Nations (wait for it *well I work with someone who talks about it a lot* the're not having their qualifing campain the way they'd like they need to beat Egypt away to guarantee qualification.

For those of you interested, Senegal look like they may not qualify with Togo in pole position in that group, No place for South Africa this time out with Ghana qualifing bar some unbeliveable goal differnence with Congo being overturned. Angola and Nigeria are neck and neck at the top of another group, can't imagine a world cup without Nigeria and it's between Tunisia and Morocco in the final group and they play each other in Tunisia who currently lead the group by a point.

Did I see Ivory Coast are leading that group?

Looks like a few nations maybe making their first ever appearance at a World Cup finals.

Ivory Coast were top, they lost at home to Cameroon at the weekend.

The asian teams are already sorted with Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Japan and Iran qualified.

Now they may get a 5th team and it could be Bin Fadhels lot as Bahrain play Ukbekistan in a play off* they then play the 4th placed team in the North America/Carrribbean zone whic is likely to be Guatemala or Trinidad & Tobago (although Costa Rica are above both these teams in 3rd place 3 points better off)

* The first leg of the Ukbekistan v Bahrain match has been ordered to be replayed due to the below:

Quote:

FIFA confirmed today that the result of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ qualifying match between Uzbekistan and Bahrain on 3 September 2005 has been declared invalid and must be replayed. In order to respect the drawn order of the matches, the first leg is to be replayed in Uzbekistan on 8 October 2005, with the second leg match to be rescheduled for 12 October 2005 in Bahrain.

The decision was taken by the Bureau of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ Organising Committee following a formal protest from the Uzbekistan Football Federation concerning a technical error by the referee of the match.

According to Art. 12.4 (B) and 14.1 of the Regulations for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, all protests, including those against technical errors committed by referees, are to be decided by the Organising Committee for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™. A bureau of the Organising Committee may pass a decision in lieu of the plenary committee in urgent matters.

The Bureau, composed of Chairman Lennart Johansson, Deputy Chairman Julio Grondona, Dr Chung Mong Joon and FIFA General Secretary Urs Linsi, took the decision based on the following facts:

1) At the score of 1-0 in favour of Uzbekistan, in the 39th minute of the match, the referee decided to award a penalty kick to Uzbekistan;

2) The penalty kick was taken and led to goal in favour of Uzbekistan;

3) Before the penalty kick was carried out, an Uzbek player entered the penalty area;

4) Consequently, the referee awarded an indirect free kick to the Bahrain team;

5) However, in such a situation, the Laws of the Game require the referee to order the penalty kick to be retaken;

6) The captain of Uzbekistan team protested to the referee immediately after the mistake had taken place and before the game had restarted. This protest was confirmed after the match;

7) This technical error was confirmed by the match commissioner and the referee inspector in their respective reports;

8) Uzbekistan protested the decision of the referee in a written request, asking for the match to be "cancelled" and be evaluated with a 3-0 forfeit result;

The bureau, taking into consideration that the referee in the match in question had indeed committed a technical error, established that, as a consequence, the match needed to be replayed. As a result, the protest put forward by the Uzbekistan team for the match to be considered a forfeit with a 3–0 result is rejected. In accordance with Art. 12.6 of the Regulations 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™, this decision is final and binding.

In that group the USA have already qualifed with Mexico about the join them and as previously said Costa Rica are 3rd, 3 teams qualift automatically.

Brazil and Argentina have qualifed from the South American group. With 2 game left Ecuador are 3rd and really only need a point to qualify, Paraguay are 4 points clear of 5th placed Uruguay so can secure qualification with a win.

The 5th placed team plays Australia who were in the process of thumping Soloman Islands in the Oceanina play off (7-1 up from 1st leg after Soloman surprsingly edged out the usual foe New Zealand during qualifing)

As you can see the race for 5th place is anyones game

And the matches remaining mean even 3rd ...t for 5th place

Only Germany and Ukraine have qualifed from Europe although there are too many ifs and buts to try and predict anyone else, i was looking at potential play off matches and it's too hard to predict, although a trip to Russia isn't out the question
