Load of softies

What a load of softies you are down there. There's bate'o afraid of travelling in the dark then wobbly and others lusting after fondant fancies and rock cakes and beery trainspotter yearning for a decent pint. Almost makes me glad I live up here in the north where we have real men and real ale not to mention Yorkshire Pudding and Manchester Tart.

Yer right lass. A handful of nuts and some dancing whippets is all us northern 'real' men need.

Dancing girls & fancy cakes - Southern softies the lot of 'em*

*( Except the 11 guys who play in their team, they appear to be making a name for themselves as anything but a pushover)

I've said before, it doesn't take much to confuse me. How did this thread get to rubbish bins and "Hoyts" whatever when we were on about fondant fancies vs real men and real ale.

ps I've sampled and lived to regret the kebabs down there.

I dont know its nearly the weekend my Brain hurts. Just replying to 'softies'. There arent many down here, with the areas we live in you have to be able to handle yourself!! so to speak.yeh the kebabs arent fantastic, bit of a way of life in the evenings after many a drink, but they generally take about an hour to cook em down here.

Halifax Lass - I would confirm that Wobbly Wayne is indeed being sarcastic in his mention of Ovaltine and the such like. As for Batteo, I do not know him but he does seem to have an affliction to the dark (I'll bet there are people up North who are scared of Spiders). As for the rest of us, I can assure we are anything but soft, although we are not hooligans or nutters either. i'm sure your lot will be given a warm yet vociferous welcome.

Searlo. Haven't seen anything from you on here for ages. I only posted the above observations as the forum has been a bit bland this season!!

Aye - if Halifax Lass is genuine article or even a lass, I'll join t' local Gay Club (not that we have such things up here) & send me ferret down t' pit. (Well I would if Thatcher hadn't closed it down.)

Must admit to prefering toast & dripping to fancy fondants, but I'll have some o' that real ale if you've got any going by time we come down to see you.

What a load of doubting Thomas's you lot are. Flatcap man I'm surprised at you. I am definitely a lass. Although up here it's a term used for anything female. My neighbour calls his wife "our lass" as in "don't tell our lass you've seen me at game, I'm supposed to be doing overtime", then the fellow up the road can often be heard telling his dog "just hang on lass till I get lead" at least I think he's talking to his dog and the local farmer calling his cows at milking time shouts "ger on there lass" (I presume it's milking time, 4 o'clock).

ps Flatcap man - I know there are quite a few gay clubs in Bradford and I have it on good authority that there's one in Halifax.

A handful of nuts , sounds like Heaven to me, in more ways than one.

Halifax Lass why don't you post something interesting like where away fans get a friendly welcome and a good pint. Is 'The Three Pigeons' still there for example and does it sell hand pulled ale?

Don't get confused by the norhern accents on the 4th November cos' a good number of Hudders fans will be following 'The Fleet' that day.

See you there?

I didn'y know my posts were so note worthy Halifax lass. Needless to say I'm more of a lurker than a poster. However, if you really are a lass and are coming down for our last home game, I'm sure we can sort it out over a few beers. Prediction is another number 1 for Elvis by then.

Ciao
