Not good news yesterday when Mr Happy was charged £15.00 in total for himself, £4.00 for very little Miss Happy(4 years of age) and £4.00 for little Miss Happy(lovely young girl in a wheelchair)!

The ground itself did not prove to be very 'disabled' friendly either. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

did it have disabled seating or spaces for wheelchairs.

if not, wingate finchely, are in the doggy doo.
they have not compiled to the disabled act 2003.

nawty nawty.

will anybody report them.

As far as I'm aware they don't have to do anything. New grounds do as part of improvements but old are not legally obliged at this time as they can derogate. As time goes by I think this law tightens.

And who is to say what is showing an effort, that could include saying that you are considering what to do as it is an old building.

As far as football clubs are concerned, the Disability Act puts the onus on clubs to make "reasonable" adjustments to their facilities for disabled people. It is true that the law is not as strict on existing facilities as it would be on any new building work, but if a disabled person was to make a complaint it would be down to the football club to prove their failure to provide was "reasonable".

Unfortunately that still leaves it down to peoples idea of "reasonable"

Clubs have to make reasonable adjustments. As far as I am concerned, W & F FC have done nothing. Most of the ground was just about inaccessible, there was no wheelchair spaces and the barrier around the pitch was too high for a wheelchair user to see the game properly. I will be posting in more detail on the SL forum shortly.

If people don't raise these issues clubs will keep on ignoring them.

I think that this situation really does need to be addressed. For one why can't there be just one price for admission across the particular league that you play in. It has realy p****d me off this Season, it just seems that people can charge what they want and get away with it. I personally think that is is disgraceful that they want to charge £4.00 for a child.

With regard to the facilities for wheelchair users, surely the law states that all premises now have to wheelchair friendly, if not be seen to be doing so.

Well thats my Monday Morning Moan over.

Yeah.I think a league maximum of £6 for adults,£2.50 for kids/pensioners, would be fair.

Agree with the £6.00 for adults but personally I think £1.00 for Kids would be better. You have to remember that it is the kids who always want a Burger, chips, sweets etc, the more kids, the more you sell. You know it makes sense!!

A good idea in principle but then we would start to complain if other peoples ways of doing things were imposed on us.

We all have our own way of running our clubs and funding them. If the wrong people were in charge we could all be ordered to have a poor bar selling over priced bottles only.

I was initially upset when being charged £7.00 for admittance to W&F. I then thought about it a little and realised that price included a program. Compare this with a £6.00 entrance fee at Brimsdown then add £1.50 for a program (plus a 50p 50/50 ticket!) then it doesn't look so bad.

But what about those of us that dont want a programme at away games, we didn't have a choice?

(Arky I have two for you)
