We drew Chesham away which is to be played at some time in February with the date still to be confirmed.

no they dont, wycombe and mkdons play in it, but normally they only field youth teams

Reading are quite happy to take the £1,000 fine to not compete. Think they'd lose a lot more money than that if they did enter in either setting up the Madjeski for a match with about 200 people in the ground, or hiring another ground for the match.

But aren't the draws fixed - and therefore they could asked to be drawn away?

 

Presumably their reserves, academy sides etc don't play at the Madjeski so presumably even if they got a home draw it would not be that hard to arrange an alternative venue.

 

A few years back we played them at Elm park before it was demolished and fat Darren Caskey scored a hat trick. I think Ray Houghton played as well....

I know the Ressies do play at the Madjeski but i don't think the youth sides do.

 

Why not do fixed draws so the big clubs play away? What is the harm in that?

The draw is already "seeded" so I don't see why they can't fix it to play away. Surely it would be cheaper to play their under 19 side in an away game rather than taking the fine. I suppose they consider themselves a big club now so it is beneath them.
