Todays news and updates v Worthing

Just got in.

Can't really add much to interim reports. As said we 'went backwards' after first 25mins as our inexperienced midfield lost control

As Porka says above-Brayley did at least look the part and had excellent first 25mins.Looks like he has goals in him.

Second half was pretty poor from both sides as heat took its toll.

Just lost our shape in defence for their goal-Greg to far upfield , someone pulled across from centre, good cross, Charlie tips out and straight to head of an unmarked attacker

Always disappointing when you give a lead away but without Gradley,(still limping badly) and Kola off injured i guess a point will do.

Worthing were nothing special(but twice as good as Maldon).

Charlies really was a superb last minute save.

Kola's injury looks pretty bad-'helped' off to changing rooms off.

Not sure who was mom:Brayley for first 30 minutes but was'nt really in it after that when midfield lost control so not his fault, but was good to see him covering at full back when Oates was temporarily injured; and shouting at everyone like he had been there for years.

Equally, Kola and Bill Edwards looked cool and calm most of time.Mitten for last minute save

Sacha was there so guess when gets clearance he'll be in the reckoning-hope he can add something to midfield.

Not sure where Remy is from -maybe it is Grays ?

Must admit i fear a bit for Fisher game as they have experienced midfield in particular, and Watts upfront to win everyball in the air as i can't see Kola being there .Help needed urgently !!

We really need that additional defender who can win balls in the air .Deen can cover on ground but currently ,he is the only proper midfield player

We so miss Gradley.Think we would have won today if he had played and stabilised midfield

Good result though shame about the injuries. Not a lot of time to get them cleared up. Onward and upward to tuesdays game v Fisher. Looking for a good attendance so word needs spreading. First game under the newly erected floodlights.

think i heard griffo say Kola had a torn muscle ,to get that sorted for tuesday seems a bit much . Bertie looks good though as long as the midfield keep supplying him but who will the final 3-4 players be . I think our strikers all have a good history to the game {Watson ?] not sure but its feeding them the final ball that has to work then they will score goals . From what i saw today its there it just needs some fine tuning .CK knows whats missing he will get it right come on you blues..........

[color:"blue"] Injury to Kola is a real blow - he's looked the part this season and has been our best defender, the injury looked bad - he had to be helped off the pitch walking very gingerly around the sidelines aided by Griffo and Paul Egan. We have Hasim Dean as a replacement at the back, but at lose his tackling in midfield.

we looked very impressive in the first half. the best i'd seen us for some time. we made worthing look krap and with better last ball may well have had three before break. still have the nightmare virus for m mouse defending though it now rarely shows. given time CK will have avery good side . the new forward took his goal brilliantly. 40 gate fans there again. in this league they dont seem to be used to away support. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I agree - our away support thus far this season has been very good. I think 40 fans for a trip down to Worthing when England were playing is a very good turnout - well done all you Gate fans. However, i feel that, as the season goes on, the 'novelty' may wear off and our away support may decline. I, for one, will not me able to make as many away games as my holiday finishes, unfortunately. I sincerely hope our support does not dwindle.
