Barnet

High Barnet - Last stop on the Northern line ( Its about 3/4 hour from London Bridge). The ground is about 5 min walk from the station.

Therefore no excuse for the Fleet faithful not to be out in force. Even if you have to travel by train, you will still be back home and tucked up in bed before midnight. And that includes your usual mug of Ovaltine.

Lets make it a big turn out, and let the lads know we are there.

PS. Anyone know if Barnet still have segregation in force..

Barnet do have segregation. I don't know if you have ever been there before, it is a delight. How this place ever got into the Nationwide League is beyond most people. Still, majority of Barnet fans are decent people, I went up there with a mate of mine who is an Orient fan a few years ago.

Excellant pub outside the ground, can't for the life of me remember it's name though. Good beers, good food and pro footy fan.

Quote Bate'o:

there is no way I am getting the tube/train back to Gravesend at that time of night.

Perfectly safe on a Tuesday night (well, on the train part anyway) .....

.....might need safety in numbers for the tube part - I should be train and tubing it.

Anybody qualifying as a concession can try the family stand or the north terrace. Unfortunately these are both neutral areas of the ground. There are no concessions for the away end though. The REd Lion, Queens Arms and Firkin are the nearest pubs, all v.gd. The club also has a bar but be warned you'll need to bring a Flake along.

Well, I reckon we should all head for the North Terrace & leave the South East Terracew empty - that way its £2 cheaper for adults (£8 on North Terrace as opposed to £10 on South East Terrace) and the OAP's and Juniors get their concession as well. - if every set of away supporters did this during the course of the season, I'm pretty sure that Barnet would have to change their policy.

And equally, whilst they pursue this dual pricing policy, how is crowd safety affected ? If the North Terrace becomes totally mixed and the South Terrace were left empty, there must be a far greater potential for trouble ( albeit that I would hope there wouldnt be any trouble from our supporters).

And "not discriminatory" ? It certainly is, on the basis that an away supporter would have to pay £10 for Bees club me,mbership for 1 game, plus their reduced entry fee, which is still greater than the full adult price, whereas home supporters would probably see more than 1 match & the saving over the season in entry costs would more than offset the cost of Bees Club membership.

Perhaps we should use the same policy on their supporters when they come to Stonebridge Road later in the season & see what they say then - I would bet a substantial amount that there would be real complaints from their fans

I think you are right, BUT.

I think that the away games this year have been excellent atmospheres. I thoroughly enjoyed Stevenage and of course Woking, but we all need to be in the same stand and congregated to get some real noise. I think we should opt for the same stand, whatever that stand will be. The noise at our away games is a different class it really is something to be experienced at non-league level with only 150-200 or so and we must try to stick together. But i whole heartedly agree that what they are doing is wrong.

I'm agreed with most of the you particularly Alan W. But I'd like to point out that you don't have to pay more than us. I stand in the East Terrace and will pay a 10er like most of you. The difference is the north terrace is uncovered and cr*p for atmosphere hence it’s cheaper for both sets of fans and with a concession rate, because nobody wants to go there. There is little potential for trouble on the north Terrace if you are concerned about that. The East Terrace and South East Terrace where you are covered. The Morecambe fans made alot of noise there last Saturday. If you enjoy a good sing and making loads of noise then that's the place to be. Though I would say that it’d be interesting if you all piled into the north terrace, it’d give the lazy stewards something to think about. As for segregation, all our games are segregated and have been since the early 90’s and you are no different.

I believe our own policy on membership is wrong as it deters many of our younger fans from coming to watch one off games, particularly if you end up stuck on the north terrace.

We wouldn't complain about a similar pricing scheme to get into your place. Believe me, most of us paid £15 to get into L.Orient (no concessions) 2 years ago. Also if it’s any consolation, any extra money spent should deter you from one the burgers, which is probably a good thing.

Having said all of that I hope you enjoy your evening at Underhill, everything apart from the result that is.
