Southport game

I'm the most optimistic I've been all season and hoping for a comfortable win. For the lineup I'd have to stay stick to what we've had for the last couple of games as it seems that the teams gelling a bit. Personally I think we might have a low attendance though. Early kickoff might put ppl off if they're working or something. And theres obviously not gonna be many Southport fans.

As usual, who else do you turn to to for info....
"This match will not be segregated" is the scrolling banner atop the club website.

We should win about 3-0 but lets not get complacent.
As long as the game's better than the last times we met... 1-3 at home and a thoroughly dour 1-1 away, I'll take any sort of victory.

One mans thoroughly dour 1 - 1 away , is another mans gritty, against all odds valuable point after Skins unfortunate sending off.

Did enjoy our trip to Haig Avenue and looking forward for a chance to visit probably the widest beach in the UK again the season.

In regards to the crowd, there will be a few more of my contingent this week with no premiership games, so you never know a 4 figure attendance could be possible.

Lets all get out there and sell the Fleet to all and sundry.

True - but the point wasn't valuable enough for them at the end of the season though was it...!!

I'm glad to see the Sandgrounders back in the Conf too: I lived there for a couple of years (mid 90s) and used the Haig to keep me from non-league cold turkey whilst away from Stonebridge Road. Well worth a weekend away.

It was also the point when southport were on freefall after being safe mid-table all season.

True: they were in the top four for the early months, but when we went up there in February they'd not won for three months and had just instilled a new manager (to no avail)

I think they only took something like 7 points from that game until the end of the season...
