I heard on Saturday from a good source that the proposed building of the upgraded ground due at the end of the year is not likely to go ahead due to lack of funding. Has anyone else heard anything.

Scaremongering at its best! I doubt we have endured all that we have only to find this has occurred.

That wont happen and you know it. Just trying to stir things up are we?

We are not "fickle".

Dont believe all that you are told or is more than likely dont try and get people to believe what you want them to believe.

Sorry mate but it wont work this time!!!

Everything is on schedule...FACT!

Try another club mate and use your obvious talents for annoying people elsewhere.

I have no bitter feelings towards Margate fc and I would like to see the ground built. I must admit I was shocked to hear what I heard from this person who is well in know.I just hope it is'nt true fof the sake of football in Thanet.

So. Who is this 'good source' then? I know you won't be able to name them, but please can you enlighten on why they are a good source. It's easy to say things like that, but frankly, saying

"If work doesn't commence by the new year may you all will believe" is hardly conclusive is it?!

If it's a good enough source to start a thread here, then surely it's good enough to validate it too.

I think ramo you are probably wrong. I direct you to the planning application and the conditions recently approved by GOSE and TDC.

"Condition 1 - The development hereby permitted shall be begun before the expiration of 5 years from the date of this permission."

Therefore work doesnt HAVE to begin at Christmas this year. In fact work can begin on 20th July 2010 and the club will be OK. Therefore there is plenty of time (5 years in fact) to raise the money.

Whats so funny about this is that FF thinks his club made a profit last year...think again. Found their accounts. Ramsgate have made losses for at least the last two years and they are increasing faster each year.

Take into account that with being promoted those signing new contracts over the summer will want a bit more money and the fact that the club is currently upgrading its ground and you find there are some problems.

Connected to the upgrade of Southwood is the problem with the lights. If they are removed from the application, will Hutchinson pay for the floodlights at all? How will Ramsgate replace the floodlights without that financial support?

Out of curiosity are your attendance figures largely in line with attendance figures last year? I know you arent playing the same opposition but are the same number of people coming through the gates? If not....oh no, less money coming in!

I think weve been through the financial situation with Margate before and the fans understand Im one of them, not someone on the outside criticising them. Lay off the finances.

I hope the ground gets a move on , hopefully before you dissapear like Maidstone did. Every Ramsgate fan wants the ground to be built soon so when you club goes bankrupt Ramsgate will have a new ground at a small price
Typical ramsgate,CHEAP.

You are right Mr Maskell let us not talk about finances hey? Rams have never and will never try to run before we can walk unlike other clubs.

Our on-field performance and growth exceeds our off field progression, BUT we are watching young, LOCAL players that fight for the club on a minimal wage bill.

We can go watch our lads train at Southwood if we wish, you'd have to get a return fare up the line to do that!

See you all next year in the premier, YOU lot hope.

You say they will never try to run before they can walk but I believe that if they continue to believe their own bs then thats exactly what they are going to do. This happens so frequently with companies when they get excited about things going well that they forget that there are problems that they simply havent watched out for and down they go. Margate have avoided this by having a larger Board with those new Directors having skills to bring to the table which will in theory at least avoid any future problems.

If you want me to point out why I think Ramsgate are going to find themselves struggling, please do ask. Ill be only too happy to oblige.

All this is doing is detracting away from the real issue.Proper business plans and viability prospects to do with the off field commercial redevelopement at Hartsdown Park HAVE NOT been presented as yet to Thanet District Council. FACT!!!!!!
