Slough 2-0 AFC Totton

First of all congratulations to AFC Totton for giving us a good couple of matches, good luck in your league campaign. Your actually a lot better than some Ryman teams!

As for tonights match, well it was an enjoyable game. Their goalkeeper pulled off 3 or 4 fantastic saves (2 from Boot) and was excellent in both matches. After he saved Boot's second half effort you thought it could be one of those matches.

Anyway we played a lot better today and goals from Ricky Browne and Ryan Spencer after an excellent move put us through.

Which way to Cardiff ?

First time I'd managed to get to a game since Thame and I was pretty impressed. If we carry on like this in the league we will be up there by the finish. Thought we were easily the better side last night. Although Blake was solid and made a couple of saves, their guy was amazing, we could have had at least five. Tony Boot had a good game last night and he should be on the scoresheet soon. Everyone slags off the Bubbs, but I thought Byron showed some good touches last night. As for Veli it's such a shame because he is now looking like a really quality player, better make the most of the 5-6 weeks we have left of him!

One of the saves last night was truly superb--the one where he somehow palmed it over the bar when he got his hand to it on the line. Best save I've seen in years, but I bet he couldn't repeat it. Would still like to see Hale in the starting line up.

Many thanks Chris, for your kind comments on AFC Totton. We were naturally disappointed to lose, but our lads certainly did themselves proud in both matches. Congratulations to Slough on a deserved win, but don't take Hampton & Richmond so lightly as you did us on Saturday. Our keeper, Wayne Shaw, pulled off some really unbelievable saves to keep us in with a chance, but don't forget that your keeper also made a number of crucial saves in the second half.

Anyway, the very best of luck in the next round, and hope you have a successful League campaign as well.

Agreed, tremendous save, but we are not surprised becausem despite his size, Wayne continues to amaze between the posts and is a tremendous asset for AFC Totton.

Very impressed with sloughs performance last night. Was my first time watching. We should have scored a few more, but hats off to there fat keeper who played a stormer. Ryan Spencer though should really not be playing, he looked sluggish and lazy, - his goal maybe the only thing that saves him

Fair play to the keeper, for a big lad, he made some great saves. Wasn't entirely convinced by him as I didn't feel we tested him enough, but for everything we gave him, he was superb.

It was another disjointed performance. Totton showed they are a good little side (Makes you wonder how good their league is!) but didn't really create anything that really worried me last night which is a credit to Palmer, Brown, Browne and Barrowcliff.

Was impressed with Boot's game, finishing aside. He should have scored twice I thought, but looked impressive otherwise. Nice to see Sammy have another designated striker alongside him, although would have still preferred Hale even if he is a bit of a strange man.

As for Veli, he's pleaded guilty to a very serious crime, and personally I don't agree with the clubs stance of continuing to support the player until he's sentenced. Whilst he's a fantastic player, for what he's done, he shouldn't be playing full stop. We've given him the support he possibly didn't deserve, but now he's admitted it, I think we should leave him get on with it.

Yet again I almost disagree with everything my fellow webmaster said

and what two matches were you watching he caught and saved eveything!

AFC Totton were a good side and but we were in control and created good chances. It was worrying that we yet again did not put away our chances.

I agree though Boot and the defence do well.

As for Spencer, it seems to me it seems he plays a lot better on the wing. When he swapped positions with Hakki the balance looked a lot better and both players played a lot better.

Just some of the things he did. Viewing him as a keeper myself, I was being a bit more judgemental on him and noticed little things in his saves which others may not have done.

Where's the report of yours anyway?

Sorry you missed the word POOR and DODGY out of that sentence

Also some of us have been at Uni tonight and just got home to do the report now while others have been watching the Liverpool match no doubt.

Well played to Wayne Shaw not only for his performance but also for applauding the Slough fans at the end.

Yes, he could do with losing a few pounds but the save that preceded the first goal was as good as anything I've seen in 25 years of watching live football.

Had it been a premiership keeper, they'd be showing it for years.

Respect where its due, the Totten keeper did a pretty good job, even though he's got more spare tyres than me! His saves were great, his interaction with the crowd was commendable and deserved some appause from the rebels at the end. Now lets stuff Hampton!
