I've just downloaded two tracks off the new Oasis single - Pass Me Down The Wine and The Quiet Ones.

 

Can you tell me which band members wrote them, please?

 

I'm guessing by the style of Pass Me Down The Wine that this is one of Liam's? Would I be correct?

Blimey - and this second one sounds like a George Harrison record.

 

The first chord change in the verse (on the word 'hear') - wow! That IS Harrison without a doubt.

 

I'm guessing Liam wrote this one too.

Pass Me Down the Wine was wriiten by Liam. Great lyric at the end goes something along the lines "of all the fathers who are f..king sick and tired"

 

The Quiet Ones was written by Gem actually. A bit disapointed with this one. His previous efforts, Hung In A Bad Place and a Bell Will Ring were quality but I'm not too keen on this track.

 

Rumour has it Oasis will be releasiing an album of all the B sides since Standing on the Shoulder of Giants.

Cool - I've got all the singles up to Who Feels Love (except Live Forever which was stolen), but haven't bothered so much since 2000.

 

Didn't buy Sunday Morning Call, and haven't got the singles for Songbird or Lyla either.

Other way round actually for me. I own every single from Don't Look Back In Anger onwards but have quite a few gaps before that.

 

Doubt I'll bother buying this B sides album if it comes outs.

The early singles are the best though, Yellow.

 

The Masterplan takes the tracks totally out of context.

 

You can only truly appreciate Acquiesce, for example, when it's coupled with Some Might Say.

 

The Masterplan never sounds better, than when accompanied with Wonderwall and Round Are Way.

I have Whatever and Some Might Say. I might go out tomorrow and start buying them. Problem is HMV and Virgin tend to charge you a fiver for old singles unless I get them off the official site.

There are simply loads of all of them. Keeps the price down - you could probably get all the ones you're missing for about £10-12 in total, especially if you can buy from the same seller. Keep the postage down.

Is it worth me getting Sunday Morning Call single? What are the b-sides like?

 

I've no interest if they're as dull as Noel's other b-sides from the era... Cigarettes in Hell and what was the other one from Go Let It Out? Dreadful.

Let's All Make Believe was the other one.

 

Actually the B sides to Sunday Morning Call were better than the single.

 

Both sung by Noel, Carry us all is a decent track and Full On is one of my favourite Noel sung tracks. Quite heavy and I think Liam would have been better doing it but the guitar solo is quality in it.
