The New Club Bar

Recommended Posts

In view of this request for the services of dancing girls.

May I be so bold in offering the services of myself, Ethel and Renee, the 3 surviving members of the all conquering Wombwell Hall charleston team 1935 - 1940 , also known as the 'Wombwell Wurlizters'during the 50's and 60''s. For the small price of being allowed a glimpse in the Fleet changing room, especially when that nice young man with the sensible hairdo is in the team. I think he goes by the name of the beast.

So i suppose you want to know what you get for such a price..

Well , to celebrate a goal we propose a 10 second charleston in front of the dug out, to celebrate a hat trick we propose a 20 second Twist in front of the Opposing dug out, and to celebrate a win , a 30 second shag anywhere you want us to.

I'll await a call shall I

Re. Dave's message.

Absolutely brilliant. Didn't expect such a quick response - another sign of the wind of change blowing through the Club at the moment. Can you imagine a few years' back a supporter's suggestion getting acted on in this way?

Let's just hope we can drink it quickly enough to make it a viable proposition. Are Courage going to supply it in small quantities? Also will we be restricted to Courage's own brews or will a more 'interesting' range of guests be available too?

Well done, again

Good news about the Sky TV too, especially as they seem to be showing more and more Premiership matches at 12.00 on Saturdays. Any plans for the bar to open early when these matches are on to encourage people to go to the bar early and watch the Sky match. Could be a good earner IF it is well supported.

I have no doubt that if there is sufficient interest then we will be opening early, but please remember that it is not entirely straight forward.

The bar is inside the ground and that means that we have to be able to find a gatekeeper who will be willing to man the gate from about 11:45 or find some other way of allowing people into the ground.

Perhaps taking admission at the bar entrance is a possibility or making it season ticket holders only would be another.

Let's get the bar finished and the TV installed before looking at the next stage eh?

i can't believe in all this thread about improvements to the bar / food, no one has yet mentioned my seafood.

I am sure if my cockles and winkles were on the bar, you'll pull in the punters.. And it would give the dancing girls something to nibble on, whilst the match is in progress...

Up the Fleet - The team with the mussels.

Sammy Seashell - coming to a pub near you...
