Car park

Recommended Posts

Hi there Fleeters! Just wondered what's happening with the fenced off bit at the front of the car park? I assume its been sold off, but it makes car parking for supporters even more difficult now. It was even full by 2.40 on Saturday for our small gate - so how do you lot manage?

I know you must explore every avenue to finance your conference jaunt, but this one isn't very fan friendly is it? Still, if it stops our rent going up, then I suppose its worth the inconvenience!

Seen the Fleet once this season vs. Southport (none of the Darts sides had a match!). Pretty good standard - to say the least! And, it's always good to see a team wearing white shirts and black shorts winning at Stonebridge Road.

All the best for the rest of the season!

Its ben sold off to a "Cab company I believe. Makes extra revenue but I agree, its not very "Fan Friendly."

I would hope that we may be able to pursuade the club to clear the undergrowth at the back to create a little more space.

It's not been sold, it's been leased.

I thought when the car park was cleared at the start of the season it was to facilitate the extra cars, with extra supporters, how sad that I am wrong,

It would be nice however if they really need the revenue and so needed to fence the area for private use, if they used the area nearer where the coaches are parked, that way at least it would be easier to park on match days, with all due respect if Dartford are finding it crowded what will happen when we play someone, like Margate, who will have a fair few car travelling fans, we will not exactly make ourselves popular if we block all the surrounding roads near the ground.

I have stopped using the car park already, how long before everyone else follows suit, extra revenue may be an attractive prospect, but what about the fans who have turned up for the game, hardly something to make any new fans come back for more. I suppose they could always use the area directly outside the turnstiles !!!just as well the boys are playing so well. Come on you Reds

My point exactly - car parking might not be a massive revenue stream for the club, but its a valuable facility for supporters. So not only is it disregarding the fans, but the local residents as well. There have already been reports of vandalism/damage to cars parked on nearby streets, which is why (as well as providing a little more revenue to the club)I've always tried to use the car park.

You just don't learn do you ?

We don't want cars on our roads....hence the Labour Party's plan to make Kent all railways and airports and hostels.

I might be able to blow £260 on taxis for the old conference...but that is public transport...not private cars....if you can't afford that then you too can be mugged at the relevant station/bus stop....so stop whinging.

Do as I say...don't do as I do....

Oops sorry Tony...didn't get that one ok'd by the President !

So...to sum up....bloody walk you peasants ! and leave the roads to those who need them i.e. the people who continuously dig them up and make it impossible for anyone to get anywhere.

My newt made me aware of the small hole in the road outside the Edinburgh Castle, which was there for ages...and did you ever see anyone working on it ? nah !...quite brilliant !!

That's Life Esther !!
