strength in depth?

It seems there is a few issues surrounding jamie wallace at the moment.

just want to put my views accross. A few of you have said that we should get behind him and not slaughter the guy. I agree, we should get behind every single player that wears a blue shirt. A few of you have said he is just a bit short of confidence, wasnt that said of scott forrester? Im sure most would agree that scotty is a better player than jamie. so why have the management not loaned out jamie instead? Scotty was hardly given a fair crack of staking a claim for a starting line up before the management decides he needs his confidence built up elsewhere. I think jamie cannot be faulted for his effort and commitment, he works his socks off, but how long do you give a player to get this so called lost confidence back? JW is playing no differently now to how he always has done. He's not that bad, its just we have loaned out players that are better. Why?

Before someone writes back and says that this doesnt matter as Fewings and Essendoh would be first choice, look what happened on sat. Joe and scotty out on loan, Roy injured, DJ not registered in time. We need strength in depth and yet we have loaned out two great players and persisted with a player who has never shown any real signs of finding some form.

think of the header jamie missed in the second half on sat. If you had to pick from Scotty, Joe and jamie which striker you would imagine would miss a sitter from six yards, who would you think of frist?

I would love to see Jamie smash a hatrick but if the management wouldnt give scott or joe a chance how long will they stick with jamie?

i agree with most of what you have said but i think you are missing a crucial point. as most seem to agree our first choice front 2 are essandoh and fewings (altho dj might have something to say about that now) so the 3rd/4th striker would have to content themselves with a place on the bench for most games. i suspect the reason forrester was farmed out on loan was because he wasnt a happy bunny abt being on the bench. joe baker i suspect is one of our highest paid players prob 350/450 a week id guess. like everyone i would love to see a fit and firing joe baker back in the squad. the fact is tho its a lot of cash to pay for someone who is getting splinters therefore it makes sense to loan him out and get someone else to pay for him. strength in depth is important and of course highly desireable but so to is a happy and united dressing room and in my opinion the management have been spot on with wallace/forrester/baker. of course we would all love to have 4 or 5 top quality strikers but how many clubs at this level can boast that...none i suspect

pc are his initials.

On the striker question, if you compare the situation to last season where for most of the time we had:

KK and Joe - inconsistent form to put it mildly

Wallace - injured

Simba - old and could only play for about an hour most of the time.

we're much better off this season!

You can't legislate for Roy picking up an injury in the warm up - if he had been injured at training on thurs maybe we could have recalled one of the loanees (not saying we would have mind you).
