Lord Lippiatt was right about this one. Definitely two points lost here rather than one gained, although I suspect most fans would have been happy to take a point before the game.

 

Both their penalty and their goal, tremendous strike that it was, were totally against the run of play. We could easily have won this game by two or three, if we had taken just half of the chances on offer. The defence again looked fairly strong and it will be interesting to see how they cope with Weymouth's attack. We will certainly have to put all our chances and half chances away tomorrow.

 

Before yesterday, Basingstoke were 5th in the league and are now 6th. Either they are in a very false position or we are going to have a decent season. I suspect the latter but we cannot afford to squander the amount of chances we had yesterday.
