There we were at the Plough end with some of the fans (including me) giving the Sheffield keeper some stick and trying hard to put him off his game, but I must say he took all the verbals like a true pro with a big grin on his face, so much so that the chief Fleet protaganist and others shook his hand at the end of the match.

 

Great game, realy enjoyed it. Defence was solid. They obviously had great faith in our borrowed goalstopper. It was nice to see Proths doing his steadying act at the back, and what can you say about Skins. This guy was super considering he had that giant No 9 to contend with.

 

My only disapointment was Manny, he appeared to be chasing shadows with not a lot of commitment, shying of the 50-50 balls. Has this clever little player lost his way somewhere?

 

Overall our guys done enough work to warrant a win. I lost count of cards the ref handed out though. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bow.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

2 - Jimmy - good point, but, not me in the number 8 Mr Tom shirt.....I'm the number 9 in the Sanderson/Chuppa Chups ( how embarrasing is that ?)/Napoleans Casinos/PlusNet shirt......

Nah, not me again...they had sold out of Regi wigs when I tried to get one.....I had a Terry Curran one though !!.....and also a Brian Joicey shirt if that helps ??

 

Didn't do replica shirts etc in Derek Dooley's & Red Froggat's day !!

 

Anyway....enough of SWFC talk please.....people will tar me with the same brush as Harry J....and I wouln't want that !!

You're forgetting Sheffield FC. (haven't a clue who they are and what league they're in ect. Just saw an interview with their manager in Fridays NLP.)

Hadn't forgotten Sheffield FC....just did not want to get TOO boring and get pilloried for talking on a non GNFC subject !! ( and compared to Harry J !!)

 

But, seeing as you have shown an interest, I'll tell you that Wednesday played a pre season friendly at Sheffield FC & won 7-1 on 12 July. Scorers were Brunt (2), Reet, Peacock (2), MacLean (2)
