Bit more like it. Probably losing the majority of my points to the fact I placed Slough in 5th. As I said when I gave in my predictiion, I'm too loyal for my own good.

I can confirm that Slough, scoring you 15 points, are comfortably your worst performing team and one of only two in double figures for you (Leyton being the other)!

I won't embarrass the poor girl by listing her predictions but let's just say she has ELEVEN teams scoring big double figures at present! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

sorry if youve already covered this, but how does this scoring work?

[Martin]

Basically it adding up the difference between what you predicted and where the team actually is. So say you put Slough 1st and they are actually 15th that will score 14 points. The person with the lowest overall score is the winner.

I keep a very big spreadsheet with all the predictions in then at the end of the season I fiddle it so the winner is the person who's been nicest to me all season and laughs at my exceptionally funny jokes!

 

Seriously it's a point for every place a team is away from where you've predicted, i.e. you predict Slough will finish 5th and if they're in 15th that's 10 points. Add up all the points for all 22 teams and that gives you an overall score. The closer your guesses are, the lower your score and it's lowest that wins.

Exactly, this way everyone's interested through the whole season rather than just guessing where Slough will finish.

Yes - unless of course the League table remains exactly the same for the next seven months.

Maybe it is because I’m pessimistic, but I thought your lot had the better of it today. After our goal, I think we were on the back foot for long periods. Can’t belive you never scored from some of them second half crosses, looked dangerous from our end. With a clinical forward you’d have had us.

Still, I’m proud of how we scrapped and got the win. Promising.

 

Sorry about our dickheads. As a proportion, they’re not a lot of us, but I can see it is too many.

Thanks, Tommy. I don't think it's the forwards we lack as they're both proven at this level it was the lack of decent delivery to them.
