Staines 1 Billericay 2

A very good result against a decent team. Goals from Thomas and Dormer. According to someone on isthmian forum we scored 2 early goals and defended most of the time after Staines scored. Good to see the goals being spread around in the first 2 games. I'm confident we will beat Chelmsford on Monday.

A good start in the first half with two early goals from Richard Thomas and Jamie Dormer, Staines then came back by reducing the deficit 10 minutes later. We had quite a lot of chances in the first half and in my mind were the stronger side. Hockers had two golden chances to wrap things up but he is slightly off the pace at the mo and needs a couple more games to get to his best. But it'll come.

The second half was backs against the wall but only with the posession. Staines really didn't create much in front of goal, altho there was one excelent save by Mel.

Over all a good result for us as there won't be many teams to over turn Staines at their gaff this season.

Shame you couldn't get to the game, really.

I agree, a good result, Staines looked dodgy in defence early on, but apart from that were a fine outfit. Scoring started in the 3rd minute, Thomas unleashing a fantastic shot that crashed into the roof on the net. Great goal. The second was quality too, good build up work (Cousins i think, cant remember), followed by a good strike by Dorms. They pulled one back on about 10 minutes, an outstanding individual effort. From then on i felt it might stay that way. Hockers had some good chances, but as Gaz said, didnt look at his best. I was surprised when Cuz came off for Elder instead of Hockers, as i thought Cuz was good.

Nath and Ross both came on and ran and worked hard for us as youd expect. Good to see Nathan back in the blue (well, white) shirt. Same goes for Henty. Mel looked solid as ever.

Only downside was having to pay £3 for a small crap burger. Still, their clubhouse was nice. Looking forward to Monday. Chelmsford dont seem to be at their best so far, and we should beat them in honesty.

100% record so far, cant ask for much more than that!

Excellent result for us... before the season a number of us had Stains down as potential dark horses and on this evidence I would expect them to be challenging for a play-off spot.

2 excellent goals early on - nice to see Richard Thomas read the comments about shooting from outside the area <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> 2nd half was real backs to the wall stuff, but we defended extremely well with all the back 4 doing a good job.

A fantastic result for us

I thought in the first half we had enough chances to have put the game beyond them but they came at us in the second half and we defended superbly.

I think as the season goes on this result will look better and better.

Well done lads
