Saturday's game

Recommended Posts

Yeah, Smith, McCarthy, Skinner and MacDonald all played very well.

I think we might need more height up front though...

They were on top at the end of the first-half but we controlled the majority of the second.

Anyway...

Reee-eeeed

RED!

fantastic game really, dont know how it was 0-0. Ross Smith i didnt know anything about before the game.(this was my 1st game of the season) and what a fantastic buy he is a no s**t defender great stuff.

Charlie MacDonald is just what we needed up front, sadly though manny is like last year, just doesnt want it and where was Ashley Sestanovich. Plus Luke McShane if we could keep him.

Am I the only one who thought Jacko had a good game. I thought Smith thoroughly deserved man of the match. Very brave considering he was injured early on. Don't usually comment on matches but I was very impressed with the team today and was pleased to see the manager really getting involved.

Good performance today.

Daish needs to make sure that the on-loan goalkeeper is kept for as long as is possible, or ideally signed full-time (Peterborough probably would not let him go) certainly far better than either Kerr or Holloway. You can see the difference in the defence when they have a goalkeeper behind them that they have full confidence in.

However, today showed precisely what I have been saying, during the pre-season period, about the lack of a true striker / target man. If either Macdonald or Omoyinmi get injured the team will be well and truly up the creek without a paddle.

No, I thought Jacko had a great game too.

Having seen the first three games, it's good to see that things are settling down, but the urgency for a tall striker must be playing on Daish's mind now with the transfer window fast approaching, mind you there is always a possibility that there are a few strikers around who are free agents so can be signed after the window closes.

Noticeable that Drury didn't even get on the bench,he played well at Canvey.

Also James Smith doesn't get a start as Ross-Smith is looking a better prospect, after all the effort and hype surrounding the James Smith transfer is he as good as we have been led to believe? time will tell.

Its a long season I reckon James Smith will get his chance.

Ross Smith, Luke McShane and Charlie Macdonald were excellent today and yes Vera I thought Jacko played very well too.

If we keep performing like that we will soon be in the mid-table obscurity zone.

Even though MacShane steadies the whole defence and looks a superb keeper I can't see us having three full-time keepers on our books.

Much better today and if we put in performances like that for the rest of the season we'll comfortably finish mid table and maybe in the top half. The teams definitely more settled and the defence looks really solid now with Proths back and the legend that is Ross Smith. He looks like a f***kin great signing.

Probably should have won the game I thought, was all over them for most of the 2nd half. Officials crap as usual. Still lacking a bit in the final third, but good to see Jacko really putting in some dangerous balls. If we keep doing that someone's gonna get on the end of one eventually. Drury really injured or is there more to it?

Ah it's nice to see we have another thread entitled Todays game. When tommorrow comes can we please change it to yesterdays game? Cheers.

Played very well today, made a former league side look very ordinary. They didn't really have much about them, just tried to hit us on the break. We obviously need a tall striker, but why some of you seem to blaming Daish for the lack of signing one shocks me. How can it be his fault?

Anyway a lot worse teams will come to Stonebridge Road this season and once Drury gets fit (he was injyred today) that will give us another option. Get that final peice of the jigsaw, in the striker and we'll be all right.
