FULL TIME 0-0

Even match it seems.Chances at both ends. Not sure if this is a good result but suppose we must take it. Seems defence isnt the problem though will have to wait on report to see exactly how things went.

Have to agree! Played 3 - GF 1 - GA 1. If we can keep them out then we need to score at the other end to win games. We need to push up more and stop playing so deep. I wonder if that was the case again today.

Understand your views on the surface, but really think there is a deepseated problem with the middle of defence which will manifest itself quite soon.

At other end, we obviously are not scoring, but is that the 'strikers' fault,of fact that midfield is not creating Chances.

Stilll, its a point today so we are holding our own i guess, and realistically thats all i was expecting this season.

I wasnt able to hear anything from Invicta Radio...it only bothers reporting on Charlton and Gillingham's games...not too happy about that. I would be perfectly happy with an update at the end of each half, just to let the Margate FC listeners know whats happening. Either way, not a terrible result. Pity Margate couldnt score, but by the same token, Margate didnt concede either.

Team

Mitten

Keister

Oates Edwards Kola Green

Brown Dean Standen

Watson Braithwaite

Ian Hillaire on for Watson second half.

Two poor sides really and a disappointng contest. Defended quite strong, Mitten made a couple of good and important saves second half. Too much lobbing of high balls up the pitch for my liking. Started off brightly and attacked, had a good attacking period with a good few corners second half but lacked any quality of finish on goal. Did miss Pat in midfield, where the ball often given away too cheap. Greg had a great shot in the first half, forcing a great save from their goalie (who was very good). Leon had a good chance with about 10 minutes to go, straight on target but lacking power.

On the plus side, Brown looks handy, Standen getting sharper, and we are attacking more often.

Played a couple of short corners, which I do not like, but I can see why because we have no aerial threat.

Pitch a bit bumpy - when we get back on our beautiful turf maybe we will pass a bit more.

i guess its of more concern that they have lost previous games to such non league giants as Hampton and Heybridge and we were first club they got a point against.

Just goes to show that we are in for a very average season, but i keep on teling myself thats al i expected this season, and at least we have survived with a reasonable temporary ground so things are'nt too bad
