Chris - Sorry for the rudeness you (& some others it seems) suffered. Most of us aren't like that. I for one would be happy with a smaller fanbase if it ridded us of those arseholes.

Must say I didn't realise you were expelled from the Conference. Was it the ground problem?

Paget is only winning the battle against Lovegrove because the latter is MIA (although Paget has looked good). I thought Avery was solid and actually Alexis had some impressive moments but does have a tendency to look off the pace. Surprised Chopper did not come on a bit earlier to try and have a greater impact on the game.

Expelled for 49 seats? I suppose I should be surprised by that but not really, it just about sums up the various football authorities. A bit like Walton Casuals being denied promotion because they hadn't numbered some of their new seats. At least they got through on appeal.

I think there are a few things we could all be critical of at the moment but the reality of it is we have 4/5 new players in the team, a couple of which are probably not good enough and a couple that will take time to gel.

In the first 5 games we are playing most peoples choices to finish in the top 6 or 7 and so far we have held our own.

Once we have our full squad available for selection we should see a marked improvement in things like creating and taking our chances and cutting out the silly mistakes that we are being punished for at the moment.

Until then I think we should not be so critical and get 100% behind the team.

RR that's not the Slough way!

TRS - it was perhaps a tad harsh - but we had not made many friends in that division and the clubs who voted us out where from the North and were voting to reprieve Telford (although it did not do them many favours in the long run). In fairness we were only promoted to the Conference after finishing second to Enfield who were not allowed to go up.

Very insular Martin, as I am sure Wealdstone will take a similar amount to AFC as yourselves.

You seem to have the old problem of not pulling the trigger around the 18 yard box, which means teams can close down and make you play in front of them.

Firstly sorry to all the Slough fans who witnessed a 'minority' of AFC fans giving the club a bad name. The club is experiancing more loutish behavior from fans, if can call them that, who seem to have tagged on as we have become more succesful they certainly weren't around when we were seen as a friendly club in the Combined Counties and I am sure are not Trust members!!

Secondly Slough seemed a bit flat and seem to still be missing a certain Haddow as Hodges seemed more likely to score in the Bryco tie when he played at the back than today!!

I feel both team will have harder ties and while AFC will be looking for a play-off place I feel Slough will be looking for mid-table!! I hope i'm wrong and also hope the ground situ gets sorted out ready for next season as can't be helping the players and E.Denton

Stoney, agree with you. Stones will have 100+ comfortably as well, not just there but to most fixtures.

And as for the wombles, there were some real nice fans there today, so let's not tar them all with the same brush. They had some excellent vocal support of their team today and some very good banter coming out, so fair play to those that did travel. For those complaining about the low attendance, what exactly did we do to try and attract the floating support in the match? Didn't see any posters up, no special coverage in the Observer (can't be bothered with the Express after that rubbish in there last week). We should be greatful they brought the numbers they did to the ground.

Onto the match now, have it recording onto the PC in the background, but once again, we looked toothless in front of goal. No real pace in the side, and very rarely would either Alexis or Brooks beat their man and whip in a decent cross. Considering we have two good target men in the box, I had hoped we'd be trying to supply them with more crosses from all over, but we're playing everything through the centre it seems and why oh why does no-one want to have a shot from the edge of the area. Disappointed again today, but remember we've had a big budget cut over the summer and are still adjusting. We've probably got the most difficult five starting fixtures in the league, so anything we're getting here will be a bonus, but at the same time we've got to keep our heads up and keep supporting the lads.

Thanks to the fans for the wave request as well!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Only too happy to oblige!

O.K., O.K. I asked for that barracking from Ian, thank you!!!!! Avery did win headers, whoopedy doo, I am shocked seeing as he is about as tall as me. The fact is he spent too long dwelling on the ball on numerous occasions, one of which led to their first goal. I know I keep going on about him, and I know I worked with him which probably means people think I favour him, but Paget won just as many headers when he came on from half Avery's height, and he played the ball simple, clearing out to touch when he had to. That is the reason I think he has shown more quality than Avery so far. Different people see different things I suppose, but to me Avery is nowhere near good enough for this level.

Oi i tried all i can down there without the big man and Radders stopping halfway thru chants !! Also as i like to give my opinion....:---

Avery slightly edges out Paget IMHO

Alexis played better today than I've seen before but still not good enough to knock Harris out of the team. (I think Alexis could be a V good player tho- Haddow was [****!!****] at first! And became a GOD!)

Metcalfe was MOM by a mile.

Woodruffe looked very useful.

Parkin spent more time out of his box than in it!

After hearing the twats on this forum and the abusive chanting esp about not having a ground and being [****!!****] blah- di-blah i wish i hadnt been so nice about them in the programme- apologies to the genuine AFC supporters (including a few really nice blokes i was chatting to before kick off)

How can you a ref get qualifications when he cant count to TEN? (TWICE!!!)

I am a prediction league GOD!

That'll do for now (this is beginning to sound like a Dave Programmes message!)

First of all No probs with the AFC Wimbledon fans in the stand - great bunch!

Strange game. Thought we played the better football, but they looked very dangerous on the break - looking like doing something every time they went forward. Plus their defence - especially Steve Butler was excellent I thought.

Though Avery played well again today and is settling in well, apart from one frustration tackle and is settling in well. Woodruffe is getting more and more match fitness and improving after not really featuring fully for a year after being a Yeading sub on most occasions last season - and I hope we keep him.

Alexis had a better game today and I think will improve as the season goes on, but has to get use to the pace on the Ryman League as with Oxford United he's probably got a lot more time on the ball, even in the reserves. Brooks looks short of fitness and has struggled so far, but i'm hopeful he will get better. Josh Miller is raw, but I think will be useful if were patient with him.

Big worry is up front for me. We played some good football but I worry about Seedel and Hodges as a partnership as we are not creating. This time last year we had a similar problem with these two up front not gelling and this was all forgotten about as a combination of injuries, Seedel being dropped, Hodges moving to the back and Matt Murphy arrviving to play up front solved this. it seems to have come back now though as they will have start playing up front together. Yes they played as a 3 last season, but not the two up front at the start of the season and still don't seem to be playing together IMO.

Thought Miller did well when he came on, the ball appeared to stick to him more than it was to Seedel and he brought others into the game. Seedel's been disappointing so far this season for me, but I have every faith in him that he'll pull something out of the bag and hit form, whether or not he can play with Hodges is another matter though. The Miller Hodges partnership looks better as it will allow Hodgey to stay more central and hopefully get his head or feet on the end of the crosses which Brooks/Woodruffe/Alexis/Carbon can provide. Still hope we'll change back to a 3-5-2 when Ballard returns.
