CLUB SHOP

Just imagine! Wet windy nights, possible attendance for a particular game at over 1000. Rain pouring down, even snow and gale force winds etc. Where can we get shelter from, considering the attendance. In the clubhouse stand! Thats about the only place now. And if you wanted to cheer your team especially from behind the goal they are kicking into where is the cover at the other end in extreme weathers.

My point is what could be done to ease the the discomfort of getting soaked etc whilst cheering on the team from our favourite viewpoints because we do still prefer to go the end we are playing into dont we whatever the weather.

So to get the real point of this thread. How about the club shop stocking some of those disposable plastic coverings/rain macs that you see given out at like Wimbledon and places like that to help prevent this from happening to people. The opposing fans (if many-if any) I am sure would appreciate these being available.

Does anyone know how to get these, how much they would cost etc.If the club could flog em' in times like that for a "quid" or so would people buy them.

Has anyone any thoughts on this and on other items that they think would be worthwhile being stocked. Wristbands are being looked into I know.

Any suggestions?

I was thinking along the lines for the interim needs on the day Peter where cover for a minimum cost could be available.Your brollies, which would be very effective I admit, might not only be too expensive to the ordinary fan but may also take up lots of room in a crowded area and could also become a hindrance to others. It has to to be something temporary for that day at a very low cost, low enough so that they can be bulk bought and be a viable selling commodity.

This was meant to be a serious thread guys.I can see how its been diverted to a joking one and I dont wish to spoil your fun but I was looking,in seriousness, to getting some ideas for the club shop, not the joke shop.

It may be that short sleeve polo shirts are sold, but i don't think so.

Not all of us of a certain age can carry off the wearing of a football replica shirt, but we can generally get away with a more subtle polo shirt-are these available ?

I recall in those heady conference national days, photos of the players in Black(odd colour but they were black and looked suitably disceet)short sleeve Margate polo shirts/although i don't think even then that they were sold at the club-maybe 'conference issue'

I'm sure there would be a market for such an item
