News Update 24/08/05

The Club has today received confirmation from Thanet District Council, that the approved detailed planning consent, has now also been approved by G.O.S.E.

The Club administration also confirm that the papers necessary to approve our C.V.A will be sent to creditors before the end of this week, and this keeps everything on target for a mid-September settlement of our administration.

Our return to Hartsdown Park on Saturday 20th August was a complete success, with a gate of 1280 spectators. The club exceeded all expectations for their home coming.

It was only at 4pm on Friday 19th August that the club finally received it's signed safety certificate from the safety committee. Work has been ongoing for several weeks and we would not have achieved compliance for certification without the supporters, who gave their time over that period to ready the stadium.

To say thank you, the club will be arranging an evening at the social club, when all those involved will celebrate our success together. The club must however pay particular tribute to the work of M.I.S.A, who have made an outstanding contribution to assist with the reinstatement of the Hartsdown End, and a special thank you to Tam for his work and leadership with support from David, Melvin, Brian, and the rest of the team.

The club remain on programme to deliver the business case for the end of September and continue to project the end of the year as a start date for the permanent development.

Your Manager is working hard to introduce new players, as he builds his squad for this season. Chris is working closely with your board, and we hope to see some fresh signings shortly.

Up the Gate.

Seems pretty excellent news to me.

The GOSE could still have turned the development down.

Makes up for Tuesday nights performance and if we win today andmonday, it wl have been a pretty good week in the life of MFC.

Mmedium term, this confirmation that the development can proceed should lead to steady revenue for the club and steady improvement in quality of players at the club ,thus more success, thus bigger crowds so even more funds and eventually we should get a team good enough to get back to conference national.

I reckon at least 5 years though.

In the short term, one would like to think that it will give players confidence to join mfc for this season.

Its already evident that we need more quality.
