I'm starting to get into Northern Soul.

I've got a few mates who do Northern Soul nights. Who are your favourite NS artists, Gertch??

To me, it's more about the scene than individual bands. I'm not sure of the names of any of the artists but when I go to my mate Tom Hingley's club nights he plays a lot of Northern Soul which I totally love.

 

Where do your mates do their nights ? I'd be interested to have a chat with them - maybe get a compilation or two off them.

There's a great Northern Soul night in St Albans, actually. Top end of town, near the Cricketers.

 

It's a pretty small venue, and there's not much in the way of seating or dancing space, but the DJ there definitely seems to know what he's talking about.

Wow, that sounds like the sort of thing I'd love to go along to. Any idea when the next night is ? Will you be going ?

 

Also, does the scene involve a lot of gambling. I've heard stuff about a Casino at one of the nights ? Could get pretty expensive if your luck is out.
