Carshalton or Chelmsford

from the Chelmsford City site....

"After the tense 1-1 draw at Carshalton on Saturday, the two sides meet in the replay at New Lodge this Wednesday (kick-off 7:45pm).

And City could not have hoped for a tougher tie if they were to advance, with St. Albans currently topping the Ryman League Premier Division."

No, they rely on the Observer or the matchday programme:

".....[we played]..some of the best football of the season during the first 45 minutes..."

Go on, guess which game. Grays? Nope. Canvey Island? No, not that one. Aylesbury? No, not that one either. Kingstonian? No, not even warm.

Hayes.

London Colney?

No, come on chaps, let's not be negative. We're still top of the league and still in five cups. OK we've just had a minor slump but we're over it now (I hope) and our major cheer leader will be whipping the crowd up into a frenzy tonight to roar our boys onto victory. Just you wait and see.

No intention to be negative, Rob.

It was more an observation on the chap who ghost writes The Dynamic Duo's contributions to the local rag. The Observer should phone me to get a quote to be attributed to t'lads.

"This week we will revert to the 3-5-2 formation which served us so well in the comprehensive demolition of Enfield. Those people on the web-site who whinge on about 4-4-2, diamond 4 midfields and Christmas tree formations don't know anything about football.

It has come to my attention that I was mis-quoted in your column last week. What I said was that the first 45 minutes against Hayes saw some of the best football that we have played for 3 or 4 games.

Having successfully overcome a difficult Wingate & Finchley side in the cup last week, we can only hope for a home tie in the next round. The lads will be up for it, whichever ball comes out of the bag. As usual in F.A. Cup and Champions League matches we'll just tell them to go out and enjoy themselves.

The League? We are taking one match at a time. The Championship has never been decided in October before and it wont this season. The five cups? We are taking one match at a time. Although we are delighted to be competing for silverware our number one priority is a top 6 finish and a place in Europe."

That should do it. Save the 'Pre-Contract Agreement' and 'commits future to The Saints' stuff for another week. Has Cook[e] got an E on the end?

I have a feeling that it will be very good tonight. Back to the champagne football. It will, indeed, be good to see the boy come back a man and all that stuff. Whoever thought that he would be missed?
