Urgent - PC Again

I spoke to my expert and he said it sounds like a DNS problem, in other words it to do with the configuration of the PC in TCP/IP settings.

 

Needs a bit of specialist advice, probably worth reinstalling the DLink software and the ISP software, which should change the internet settings back to their rightful preset.

 

Or rolling back, to roll back, type in system restore in your trouble shooter, pick a system restore point and the system will close down and restore the settings to a point where the link was working.

 

Sorry I can't come over tonight and to be honest while I may sound knowledgeble I'd look pretty clueless!

What you need to do, is to check for hidden files on your pc, the user that it said it was going to save the files in. on documents and settings you will have the username that the files were copied to, what you need to do after that is to go to tools at the top and then choose folder options, once there choose view from the top, on the list there will be an option show hidden files, click on that and then click ok to get you back to the explorer screen, after that browse all of the hidden folders, they will be the ones with the faded look. In regards to mac vs PC, Mac are more robust and powerful and are most commonly used for art/design work for magazine companies and design companies. PC's are for the mainstream market so business can use pc's for network use, and for ordinary home users

Tried that, it's not a hidden folder issue unfortunately.

Only other possibility is to search ALL TEMP folders. Maybe there !

yeah.. i opted for the easy option and just got my son to plug in his old p.c. for the time being, telling him i would look at it later.. which obviously i wont.. i think he has em both set up now as his one had loads of homework on it, hopefully copied from the internet with a few spelling mistakes inserted to gaurantee 456 A*****++++* 'o' levels ..

I was in Southend on Sunday, actually. I pulled up alongside a local chav in his Seat 500 cc somethingorother with two dustbins in place of exhaust pipes, gull-wing doors and flames painted around the wheel arches.

 

I thought of our last conversation and I was tempted to mention to him that the cubic capacity of my fuel tank exceeded that of his engine but the lights changed and I purred away.
