I dont think we can expect a larger crowd than 700 to be honest mate. I may be wrong but the homecoming was a major pull for the attendance v maldon. Saying that, 700 would be good in this league. In the NLP the attendances in this league seem very low and i think ours will be one of the larger ( i hope! )

Chin up gents. This is only the beginning. If we're in the top 8 by xmas then were in with a good chance of going up.

Good game, Staines having most of the possesion. Michael Currie hit the post for Staines in the first half, but neither side tested the keepers.

Second half CJ (Clement James) with a downward header, and Craig maskell with the penalty after Mitten rushed off his line and took out DeLisser.

Margate pulled one back after keeper shaun allaway failed to get a strong hand on the strikers shot, and it trickeld over the line.

Yes Paul. Chins up indeed. Maybe with more expected improvement we can turn this result around at home later in the season and even things up. However a result on the 29th is required to keep the points ticking over in the meantime.

Maldon lost 2-0. I was at Staines and thought they had the edge throughout. However, they are a much better team than Maldon and will challenge for the play-offs. So no reason to be too downhearted. About 70 from Margate.

Agree that Staines looked pretty well organised and a bit fitter.

I think they have had better and tougher pre-season preparation.

Maybe if 10 games ,on we may have escaped with a draw ,but the side out tonight would never have beaten them.

Game was lost in midfield where we were 'not at the pictures'.Slower to the loose ball and misplaced passes-unlike saturday when we controlled midfield against a weak Maldon side.

No fault on Leon and darren-no service whatsoever so no chances.

2 shots all night-Haseems first half screamer-he has got a decent shot-and Jermaines goal.

Kola and Haseem Dean looked good and competitive but no-one else was really in it,although Oates and Green were fairly solid, but again against a 4 man midfield, their forward runs were blocked and equally Staines always had an extra man to pass to in midfield.

Certainly away from home, if CK will play with 5 defenders, we need 4 in midfield and just one up front(we can't create any less than tonight !!)

Looks like the squad is about formed-the 15 out there tonight, plus Daniel Sacha upon int. clearance and Annon when fit.

The goal conceded was usual problem -ball to far post and we lose out in air again-a few grumbles about their man climbed on ours, and it was a bit dubious, but we should not have to rely on things like that; and not get into the situation in first place-just win the ball in the air for once and clear the thing, but we don't have the height in defence to do that.Equally CM was hesitant all round tonight which was mildly worrying

Have to say there is a bit of lack of real quality there ,and mid table is best that will achieve, which is not a criticism since as per above post, my expectations for this season were no higher anyway; though i guess you always hope.

I agree that our game was lost in midfield. The two worrying things for me was a very hesitant Mitten and an out of puff watson. It was frustrating to watch our team being dominated by staines but they did chase us all game as soon as we got a sniff of the ball. The Ref was useless!! to put it politely! I knew that a point would even be lucky tonight but still its early days yet. Next two matches (Harrow and Redbridge)should be a good a time to get points as both have lost all there matches so far. SO!!

Come on the gate!!!!!!!

In simple terms, Staines were better than us tonight, and seem to be quite an efficient, well drilled side

couldnt have put it any better they simply outclassed us on the night they will be challenging for the playoff's we looked lively in the last 5 when the 2 young lads came on.

Maybe a positive is that last season after conceding the first, we would have conceded 3 more which did not happen tonight.

I think Kola and Haseem bring a bit of steel and mental toughness to the job thank goodness
