MATCH THREAD

We had a half decent shout for a penalty in the first half for a shove on Daly (I think). Hodgey went very close in the second half with a shot that grazed the outside of the post. Too many silly fouls awarded by the referee who failed to punish people sufficiently for the worse stuff.

The game was alright, although we had the best chances to win the game and was very lucky not to lose it at the end. What I thought was very noticeable was the difference in the way the side acted as soon as Harris was brought on - hopefully he will be in the starting 11 Saturday.

Get the first comment out the way - CUT THE GRASS WINDSOR!!!!

An utterly boring first half where Leyton had the majority of posession and played some nice stuff, but never really threatened.

Second half much of the same until an incident with Hodgey and a Leyton defender when we had a corner.

That seemed to spark us into life a bit and before the end of the game Hodges had two good chances he shot wide from and Chopper, who looked very lively when he came on chipped one over the bar after good work from Matt Seedel.

They thought they stole it in the end when a nice move cut through our defence, but the player one-on-one with Parkin tried to be clever and passed forward to another player who was offside despite finding the net.

In all honesty we looked a bit like a bunch of stangers playing together tonight a lot of the time and it will take us time to gell. Both Alexis and Brooks faded in and out the game, but it will take them time to get use to this level.

Was impressed with Avery tonight and Woodruffe also had a good game. Avery reminds me of a cross between Steve Daly and Ant Howard, but the problem tonight was we were forced into a 4-4-2 with no Ballard, which saw Josias at right back. Desperately need a left sided centre back with Daly and Avery until Ballard comes back me thinks and unfortunaely Paget has not got enough experience yet.

All-in-all a good point against the play-off finalists last season who had a great away record last season lets not forget...

Actually, you are correct, the grass is a little long, but it is growing actively at present with the recent rain, good temperatures etc.

I'm sure everyone wants a pitch that will last through the winter, and a healthy grass coverage is essential for this. Hopefully not all games will end 0-0 as the first two have. Good luck to both teams.
