I don't remember many shots taking place inside the box.

I can recall two straight away: one in the first half (Hammatt?) from about 12 yards which the keeper saved brilliantly - I was already yelling 'goal' - and one in the second from Howard that hit the post.

The crowd was ok. It is a long way for Dartford fans to come and not only was it mid week but the week before a bank holiday.

We only had 40 more for a Saturday game against a local rival.

I am also disappointed with the decision to play Waltham Forest on a Friday evening. Fridays are reserved for the pub - end of week and all that. Football is for Saturdays and if Saturday is not available, as in this case, then go for Sunday!

So what with all your equality views, what about the possibility of a team who's fixtures were out three weeks before Towns already having a match scheduled for Brimmo that day?

Use the Brimmo bar friday night or just dont bother with the game, there are more people than you around.

Whenever there is a Sunday game others complain about missing there sunday roast and the sky tv match.

To be honest I thought the crowd would have been much higher than 315,
still, their loss!.

That's why we need our own ground. Brimsdown Rovers have an FA Vase game on the Saturday and it takes precesence over league games. And they have said they will try to switch their next round match to the Friday if they get through because otherwise the same thing will happen.

At least this time our opponents are Waltham Forest, so they don't have as far to come for an evening game as Dartford did the other night and there's no work the next day for a lot of their supporters.

An ok game is not enough in this league unfortunately. One mistake is all it takes to lose a game at this level and if we continue to lack pace at the back we will be punished again and again.

I have to agree with you. I think we have looked the most solid in defence when Stuart Snowden is playing as it gives us some height and the pace. Hopefully we will get a chance to see some other players when his suspension starts.

"Dartford defended very high up the pitch on Tuesday night and I'm surprised Town didn't try and take advantage of this fact. On a few occaisons an early ball over the top may well have broken the off-side trap but it was not to be. Let's hope our FA Cup campaign gets off to a good start."

There is no point in playing an early ball over the top as both our strikers lack pace!

I agree that there are other people other than me and many of the complained last time we had a Sunday game. I didn't as Sundays suit me.

If they can complain when it is a Sunday game I can complain when it is a Friday game.

As for giving it a miss. The standard of football in the SLE is streets ahead of the ESL and I went to most of the ESL games. I will fogo my Friday at the pub in order to be at Brimo on the night. I cannot get legless in the Brimo bar as I have a 20 mile trip back home. Unless, of course, you are prepared to drive me home after the match.

Well no, as going from south to north you have to go through the tunnel! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> But I am familiar with the M25 in the rush hour - I have done it many times, mostly but not always the other way - and cannot see it as an insurmountable problem to get to a game for a 7.45 kick-off.

So Steph, If you are going why complain?

Why not leave straight after the game and go to the local pub?

Because I would prefer it if the games were not on Friday evenings. If I kept silent everybody would think that we were all happy with a Friday evening.

Friday evenings I meet up with my mates at around 5:30 or so and then go to the pub until 7:30 - 8:00.

If I went to the pub after the game my mates would not be in there! So I would be drinking on my own. A most unsatisfying prospect.

Went to the pub tonight as I am at a folk festival for the bank holiday weekend.

Most of the peopel at the pub are retired and we agreed to consider drinking on Thursday rather than Friday and it seems that the day is to be changed.

Now how is that to accommodate ETFC!

Is this a joke ?

THM

I do hope it is, or next we will be hearing that Kevin Riley is a midfield dynamo!
