A good week for singles...

Haven't really heard Usher, and what I have I dislike intensely, but I understand he's one of the more respected artists of his genre.

 

Art Brut, however, are mediocre by anyone's standards.

The Stands first album All Years Leaving hinted at how could they could be. The album sounded like it was made in the 60's, not a problem for purist however...

 

Horse Fabulous is a massive sonic step forward. Howie Payne is certainly one of the most gifted UK songwriters we have. The album is crammed full of lilting melodies, great vocal harmonies and the best songs and production of Payne's career

The Stands were fking boring mate as are Maroon 5.

 

This arguement is very lame mate, Art brut must be rubbish because they shout and the album went to number 106 while The Stands sound like something from the 60's

If your argument is backed up by reviews then I posted several good reviews around the time of the album release

You didn't like the Stands because they make music that sounds like the 1960s. They play their instruments and they have a drummer. They sing.

 

I didn't say Art Brut are rubbish, though from what I've heard, they're really not very good.

 

Art Brut are mediocre. They're not even good in their own field. They're mediocre.

 

And I'd rather be crap than mediocre.

No, I don't like The Stands because they were dull and boring and sounded like so many bands I've heard before. The Magic Numbers/Bees/Coral etc all make music that sounds like the 60's and I like them and I like plenty of 60's music.

 

Art Brut play their own instruments as well and have a drummer.

 

If they are so mediocre then why are they getting rave reviews and building up a steady live following?

Pathetic, what exactly is the stabbing stats for Oasis gigs, agreed you may get twats there but you get that at loads of gigs, I mean Kasabian seem to of picked up a few en-route, simple get amoung them and give as good as you get!
Mind you this is from the man who still carries a sony walkman as he's frightened that anything better will be stolen on the tube.
