Thanet Times - great coverage

Front cover headline 'GATE COME HOME!'. Pics of supporters singing at the game. Dominating the back page too with a pic of Keister playing a long ball, with fans reactions from the day.

Double page spread inside the back cover with report, The Manager column - views from CK (hope this can be a regular feature), Match Facts column with a brief rundown of how each player did inc. stats, Man Of The Match (Leon), Shout Of The Day (Stick the flag right up your a***), Skill Of The Day (Dean Standen's flick), Shot Of The Day (one of Watson's misses). So 4 packed pages of coverage bodes well.

your proberly right but you have to rember we live in thanet, the last big thing that happend here was the anglo-saxon invasion.

So it may happen <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Coverage is excellent, shame about the photo on the front page though - three of the four in the main picture were hardly seen at Ashford or Dover, Ganderton, Veaney and that Bernard bloke. Would have been nice for it to have been the people who've stuck with the club for the past few years rather than people who came out of the woodwork.

Not wishing to prolong the argument but I'm with JJ on this. MFC wants as many supporters as possible without the need for any loyalty test. Let bygones be bygones and welcome to newcomers and returning supporters alike.

Yes lets forget about all the people who abandoned the club in it's darkest hour and then show up when things are back to normal(ish) acting like they own the place.

Hmm not bitter are we. I think most of us know who your group are. So you're just making yourselves look pathetic. If you're such great fans then surely you wouldn't be bitter about other people enjoying themselves and giving the team plenty of vocal support. After all, it's better than standing there bitching about others isn't it?

This is one of the many times I have wanted to bang some heads together.

I just got the paper, all I can see is a very good collage of lots of people enjoying the homecoming under a nice big banner headline. I haven't a clue who any of them are, neither do I care.

To see a front page like this is a GOOD THING.

Some things are better left unsaid.

boo to this topic, started off ok, then some people have to turn it sour. I dont care if you go to every game since 1949, or you turn up once a blue moon when Fulham are in town, or Maldon town for that matter, as long as your cheering on the right team!

firstly, i must apologise about that terrible picture of me i look like a hooligan(for which i am not)sorry.

Secondly we are all fans and while i agree with some of the comments on here the support is welcomed. Whilst i and a few others are generally the choir(lol)and by that i mean we normally get the singing(if thats what you can call it)started everyone and imean everyone is welcome to sing along with us or not or sing on your own its not my club its OUR club , so stop bitching and cheer on the gate.

THIS IS NOT A POPULARITY CONTEST!!!

Did anyone notice the piece from the editor on the inside pages. That was cool too.

We are a CLUB, we are FANS of this club and its not and shouldnt be about individuals but ALL of us as a TEAM. On many occasions I couldnt get to Dover or Ashford as I am sure many others couldnt and therefore we should be understanding that many other fans couldnt make it there too. Am sure that they kept looking at our results and hoped for success week in week out, and John put it extremely well.

We should all be as one, united for the club, and the more that attend now, regardless of past attendances & non attendances, and reasons for them, the better it will be for the club.

Each and everyone one out there that has put the work in know in their own hearts, who they are and I for one, as I am sure is the case with others, can live with the fact that we did our bit but lets not deny those that didnt, the right to follow their club, even if it is after a break of 3 years. Lets face it we should have been doing it for the club and to see our club back home & for no other reason. We achieved that so lets share that again with those that were less motivated & less inclined to travel because I am also sure that at the end of the day they were and still are fans of this club. Who cares who did what. We did it for the love of the club and we did it for no return and on a voluntary basis so now that we have that and are on the rise again lets welcome EVERYBODY that comes through the gates & who pays their money and supports this club and its team. Its their money going into this club as well as ours that will give us better days. For whatever their reasons, they have nothing to be apologetic for therefore we have nothing to forgive. We should just encourage the old and the new on a equal standing.

Lets face it without those people we wouldnt have had that great attendance figure on Saturday. A figure that we have all been so happy about achieving and also one that we have been seen to be so proud of.
