PC Clean Up

There's a clean up tool to remove all the temporary files etc. You could have thousands of temporary Internet files. It'll be under: Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools then run Disk Clean Up.

Remove any unwanted software that you have installed. Go to Start, Control Panel, "Add/Remove Programs".

When you've done that, try downloading RegClean. Run the app: it gets rid of unwanted stuff that the system remembers.

It's never a bad idea to defragment the disk, delete any temporary internet files, that's on options. Not a bad idea to clear the cookies from the system either.

I had to start afresh after a crash about 3 months back, when I started back up again the running speed was great!

Done the usual defrag and clean up stuff, will try add/remove and regclean (is it free?) ? Deleted a load of files manually a few weeks back, kept on seeing a prompt saying that I'd deleted some vital (not necessarily vital) Windows files, and needed to insert my Windows disk again. We don't have one. Was thinking of a complete system restore reboot restart thingy, wiping everything, but that would take days and probably cause more hassle than it'll solve. Also, cheap iBooks on the web...?

Thanks for the help.
