[ Message 337922, a follow-up to none ]

August 22nd, 1959. Margate's first game back in the Southern League since before the War attracted a 5000 gate against CUFC. There is a photo from the game to be found at the excellent MFC history site run by Jeff Trice - www.margatefchistory.co.uk

CUFC's last game in the Southern League in 1970 before they hit the big time was against, yes you've guessed it, Margate. The crowd, 5000.

Interestingly, two years later, Hereford's last game in the SL before promotion the FL was against, yes you've guessed it right again, Margate we lost 6-3 in front of 5000. All we do is set others up for success.

Oh what could have been achieved........MFC, the story continues
