I'm off to watch the Aussies play Cricket on Saturday so will also miss it (Will be listening to the radio for the Wales game though!).
Think that it's b****y ridiculous that the ko hasn't been brought forward, did W & F refuse or did we forget to ask??????

As far as I am aware, they were asked, but did not want to change KO time. Thats what I was told anyway. I think its bang out of order. Still Ce la vie!!!!! Enjoy the cricket any way.

CRICKET???? On a match day????

"Whats that all about"???

Arky mate, think what your missing, I mean to start with at 3pm you have got the announcement of the back four (or three!!) trying to guess who one of the centre backs is!

Then sometime between 45 & 60 mins you will miss Dean Greene being taken off after being influential in the game to be replaced by Matty Negus!!

Also you will miss being able to stand behind the goal with at least two of last years championship winning team in their civvies!!!

Mmmmm have a good day!!!!

Why should this TV 'event' have any bearing on our KO time on Saturday?

I would have thought that supporters of REAL football wouldn't waste their time viewing an overpaid pack of performing poodles prancing around anyway.

It's a joke that this game hasn't been brought forward to 1.00pm or even mid-day. Wingate are liekly to lose some serious money at the bar and the turnstiles.

A Jewish club turning their noses up at serious money, who'd have thought it. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Seriously, the majority of football fans will want to watch the England game tomorrow and I for one will not be making the journey to Summers Lane due to the kick-off not being brought forward.

You'd have thought that England fans would want to watch their country play in a World Cup Qualifier.....

There are overpaid packs of performing poodles at all levels of football Derek.

I believe football has a 'tribal' element, that's why I'm an ETFC supporter/activist. For me, the FA Cup match against Waltham Abbey has far more significance than ANY international, and come to think of it any Premiership/Football League etc. matches.
I firmly believe that the campaigns being run by the Football Supporters' Federation to get matches played at 3.OO on a Saturday afternoon, and to allow spectators to stand are also worthwhile, although not particularly relevent to the game at our level.

Agreed that football has a tribal element, but more so amongst supporters, how many players at the Town are from Enfield?.
As to Town playing the Abbey next week being more important than any international, would you say that if your country was playing in a Semi-Final or Final of a major tournament?.

As for bringing back terracing at major grounds, I had the pleasure of standing on packed terracing for years at Spurs (Yes, they used to be packed), it wasn't very nice then & wouldn't want to go back to that.
I think the FSF would spend their time better working to reduce prices at major grounds so it's affordable for all again.

Many groundhoppers would rather be at a match than watch televised games, regardless of who's playing. 3pm ko's on days like tomorrow are a godsend to 'hoppers it is the second game of the day for most of them. Hoppers generally don't go to 1pm ko's because they can't get games in either before or after unless they are very, very close together.

For every regular supporter that doesn't go to a 3pm game, there is probably a groundhopper to take their place. Swings & roundabouts, really.

Indeed, but Groundhoppers have an addiction, they aren't normal Supporters.
I used to know a bloke at Spurs who'd watch at least one youth game in the morning & then come to WHL to watch the first team, wonder what happened to him???????
