Lift to Hullbridge.....

Recommended Posts

Do many trains run to Battlesbridge? It seems a pikey one eyed place with one pub and an antiques factory!!

Wouldn't you be better off getting to Rayleigh and then getting a cab?

One an hour stop there going Southminster way. It is a weird place. One platform, no cover and a small car park (ripe for a dogging venue!). A small track takes u down to the Hawk (less than 2 mins walk) and they usually phone us a cab from there, which is about a fiver.

The Hawk has been done up now and caters mainly for families eating. Food looks good but booze costs the earth, when u compare prices to the Wetherspoons-type places.

Then when u get to the ground.....nice people but it makes u wonder what qualifies for senior status.

God knows how they accomodated nearly a 1,000 in there a couple of years back when their youth side played Blackburn in the FA Youth Cup!!

Nice slope on the pitch too, but tell your defenders no looking for a row Z when clearing the ball..You will see!!

Have fun and enjoy!!

I was thinking more of The Barge in Battlesbridge. Quite a decent pub. Would suggest not to venture too far into Hullbridge. Let's say I've heard horror stories about the gangs of chav kids that hang around the place.

they could have played that at blackburn which would have been a great experience for those boys but the club prefered to play at home!!!!!
