Hello,

 

What are people's predictions for Tuesday then ? I'm, going to go 2-1 to the Swans, but what do you think ?

 

Also I run the Staines Town unnoficial site, and if you have any information regarding players, club info or anything like that, that I could use in the match preview, it would be much appreciated.

Yeah we did have an ok season, but at one point we failed to win at home for around 5 months. We have built on the squad though, although most fans wont be pleased if we dont make the play-offs.

I'm going with a 1-0 to the Gate. Defence looks so solid but it'll be a vfew games before the front two have a goal blitz. But there's enough there to suggest another win, to me.

hmmmm i got it wrong for saturday and i hope i get it wrong again in the gate's favour, but i reckon 1-1 im not to convinced of our defence yet.

I feel convinced of our defence its the other end I am concerned with, despite us winning yesterday. Without that defenc e on saturday that goal we scored may not have been the winner.I too go for a 1-1 draw. ANY draw will do down there and a win will be a bonus.Its still early days and so we should expect the unexpected until we get to know who's who!

I equally remain unconvinced bt MFC defence.

 

Wait until they get two lively and tall strikers up against them and then comment !!

Remember-Burgess Hill ran them ragged in the centre, though Kola has settled in a bit more and definately adds something.

 

The key is midfield though, where if you stop heopposition getting te ball, then they cant attack.

 

Key role is Hasin Deen's-he adds so much by just sitting in front of the defence ,and cutting out early balls.

Either a very boring 0-0, CK very defensive,

1-0 Gate again very defensive, goal coming from a set peace

I'd love a boring 0-0 draw, but our defence is not that good.

The defence will need to gel quickly. Two or three attempts to clear the ball from danger areas will not be good enough against some strikers in this league. Leroy Griffiths at Fisher, Steve West at East Thurrock, Carl Griffiths at Braintree, Hockton at Billericay. Nearly all the teams seem to have fairly decent attacking players so we will face much tougher tests.

Wont be able to get there tuesday though have been trying to alter shifts to do so. Dont finish work till late enough not to be able to attend.Is there someone who is going who can p.m me with their phone number and I can then give them mine and between us we can keep others updated on here for those others that cant make it also.Maybe this has already been arranged by some I dont know but it woud be helpful no matter who is doing it.

Hardly matters now but could those that are going let me know how "POPOVICH" fares as he is apparently playing for Staines Town now. I thought he was a good solid central defender who could have served us well. For whatever reason its a shame he didnt stay with us or maybe he wasnt intending to stay despite turning out for us against the "Rams. Am just interested to see what form we have lost out on or maybe avoided.

I anticipate the defnece being exposed tonight though ,and sadly a 3-0 loss.

I think any team in this division will find it very hard to break our defence down this season. Marien Ifura, Matt Flitter, Popovic and Michael Murphy. Experience mixed with quality and having "The Fish" (Fiston Manuella) sitting right in front of the defence.

 

CJ (Clement James) is likely to be a handful down the left wing, as is Andre DeLisser on the right. The main problem this season would of been goals for us but Michael Currie and Dwayne Plummer grabbed one each at the weekend, and Jermaine Hunter was injured for that game but will be back tonight. Michaelmichael nice to hear you are optimistic about our chances. Midweek away matches are never easy but there was enough quality on show saturday to suggest we might get something, and who are Staines, anyway? I think our problems lie at the other end of the pitch. We haven't scored more than one goal in any friendly or league game so far. DW is not a 90 minute player and Leon is apparently unavailable every week so we need two more strikers imo. Four of our defenders were at the club last year and Mitten has played for us before and is an improvement in the goalkeeping department and I was impressed with Colo so I think the defence will be ok but agree would like someone taller in the Ross Smith mould to help defend at corners and set pieces.

Agree with that, Mike. Also I don't see us getting many goals from midfield. I don't know if Standen has much of a record in that department.
