Couldn't agree more! Makes you wonder what would have happened if Hakki and Howard had started! What has Hale done to the manager? Would have thought that he would have been brought on instead of Boot.

At least we are in the draw for the next round. Anyone know when that draw takes place?

Probably not a lot. As A Team we played poorly, and quite clearly underestimated Totton. We are very lucky to be in the hat on Monday and will need to work a lot harder Tuesday. Draw is at 10:30 a.m. Monday morning.

I've been watching Slough a long time, and thought I'd make my point. Please please someone explain why Hale is not starting, what has he done to upset Browne. Winston and Hale together look a good pairing. Feel sorry for Velli, we'll miss him, and we miss our Captain.

Veli will do the time for the crime he's committed and if he's stupid enough to get caught up in it, let alone throw stuff at police horses and police, then he deserves everything he gets.

Such a waste of talent though as he's such a good player, but in turn, very, very stupid for what he's done.

As for yesterday, Browne gets it wrong again. Hale needs to start upfront alongside Winston, but due to a long running dispute, his personal feelings are stopping what is best for the team and the best for Sammy Winston. Winston needs a partner up alongside him, not Alvin or Gilkes in the hole supporting him when they can. Hale can provide an aerial threat which takes the pressure off Sammy being the target man, meaning he can get back to what he's done best so far this season, score goals.

Since the Bubb's have joined (I'm now led to believe they are all part of a big friends group which is why they've signed) our performances have declined rapidly and we've looked a much less potent side.

At the moment, the team is too full of players mates so to speak, and as a result, it means some are receiving preferential treatment. We need to be doing the best for the team, not the individuals.

Back to yesterday, thought both the Bubbs were relatively ineffective and as a result, Winston had to do a lot of needless running.

None of the team yesterday should be happy with their performance, yet I hear the management were pleased with the performance, even though for 35 minutes of the second half we were outplayed by a side which is two/three divisions below us. Hunger was key yesterday, and again, we weren't interested. We were simply lucky to get away with it.

Another similar performance at Wexham Park, goodbye round three.

That said, I hope lessons are learnt, and the better playing surface should aid the cause.

Don't expect to see Hale play though, as Browne will most likely stick to his personal motives and let some players buddies play instead.

Steve Hale has mentioned to me, but at the same time, also said not to pass it on.

It's a very trivial thing which he's now surely been punished for, but for some reason, Steve Browne is making a real meal of this un-necessarily.

Hale should be partnering Winston. Full stop and end of story.

Will it happen? No.

Why? Browne's being a fool.

He's running a big risk if he doesn't--he's not exactly Mr Popular with the fans, and I suspect many will keep quiet as long as we have a team that is either performing or at least fighting for every ball and doing their best, but after whats been said and done in the past, he hasn't exactly got a lot of goodwill in the bank. We have enough problems without him adding to them.

On the subject of Veli Hakki, I think it's bloody typical that we're going to lose our best player just as we're challenging for the league title. When are we gonna get a good break? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif" alt="" />

We were very poor and very lucky. We are all agreed that Hale has to start. When we went behind Browne called Ant Howard over to come on and seemed to bring Boot on as an after thought to go more attacking. A front line featuring Boot, Bubbs, Gilkes and Winston struggles aerially. As Ted says it is hard to criticise the manager when we have one defeat to our name. Must improve for Tuesday. Come on you Rebels.
