The Pitch

First time i had seen, and thought groundsman deserves credit for it.

 

Pleased oit did not cut up so with another couple of weeks growing and then cuts looks like it could last the season ok,which is good for a newly laid pitch.

 

You could see the outlines of a few of the turfs still so still binding to do, but think it wil be ok.

Noticeable that on occasions we did play decent football which a good pitch lends itself to.

 

Think teams will look forward to their visits to HDP to play on a quality pitch

The quality of the playing surface helped the team's performance. They were able to play a decent passing game. A considerable improvement from their pre season friendlies.

Getting the pitch to such a fine condition has been a tremendous achievement and has involved a great deal of hard physical work, many sleepless nights and been subject to the vagaries of the weather.

We are fortunate to have such a dedicated and able groundsman in Ray.

After spending a couple of seasons with home matches on dodgy pitches at Dover and Ashford, Rocky should return to show us his silky skills on a smooth surface.

It's a sad thought to me that we will not be able to have that pleasure, as he has moved on to Havant and Waterlooville by the look of it.

But I must admit that I thought of it on Saturday.
