Prediction League - FIRST UPDATE!!!!

OK. I know I said I'd split it into two league tables but that, frankly, looks a bit pants. So, in 1 to 51 order, here's the very first update. Put it this way, I hope the staff at Tummies are better at making and serving food than they are at predicting the Ryman Premier league!!

The two most upsetting things about those results (apart from our defeat) are Staines beating Leyton and Windsor a) getting over 100 attendance and not being the lowest attendance in the league. Bloody Fisher!!!!!

This prediction lark is easy if you live out of the catchment area, so do not see many games and have no scientific logic to it !

Ian can you remind me how the points are scored (i have searched but can't find the original posting) and the way you have calculated the league table (points, goal dif , goal scored name ?) as I make my total 110 points based on the league table on the ryman website.

A suggestion to Gary - given that this prediction league is going to run throughout the season and could take up a lot of space, what would you think about setting up a seperate forum specifically for the league?

Paul - it's a simple calculation between your prediction and where teams are in reality. So, if you said Slough would be 5th and they are in 14th then that's 9 points (14-5).

Whilst the calculation is simple however, the formula's in the spreadsheet are extremely complicated as they have to take account of correct placings to calculate the rank of each score. I put the spreadsheet through a fairly robust testing exercise to double check all of the calcs so if there's an error it's more likely to be me putting one of your predicted teams in the wrong place or the Sky Sports web site getting the table wrong as that's what I used as my reference!

When I get home I'll check your prediction, the two web sites and the formula's and let you know.

Sky Sports.....MUPPETS! Not only did they have the original table wrong, they now list four teams as having played two games! I've recalculated the table based on the correct order taken from the Ryman League web site and as you suggest, Paul, your score is 110. I will use the Ryman League site in future.
