I think that Paget was the weakest link he always looked out of place and didnt look the part, whereas Wilko i thought had an alright game. Alexis, Carbon, Hodgey, Seedel and Woodruffe impressed yesterday, so its hard to single out one player for praise because i thought they all had good games.

Radders the number 8 ( forgot his name ) had 75 min's to inpress, he done naff all, didn't tackle, lost the ball by giving it away and didn't track back. Josi couldn't go foward until he went off. On the other hand Tyron ( tee ) Daley got stuck in and done more in the 15 min's or so he was on the pitch ( not forgetting we was already 3-1 down ). I think all the scorers were from ower right ( might be wrong ) [color:"red"] [/color]

BUT SAYING ALL THAT IT WAS THE FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON

The second goal was from a simple through ball over the top of Avery who was the right side of centre.

I agree that Daly looked better and also that Alexis limited Carbon's ability to get forward. But, we have the players we have and without completely changing a formation, he's the best we had available yesterday.

I dunno now if a 3-5-2 would be more suitable to the squad this season. After wanting a 4-4-2 last year, I've gone full circle!

(Right to left)

Parkin

Avery - Daly - Ballard/Lovegrove

Carbon - Shepherd - Metcalfe - Wilkinson - Woodruffe

Seedel - Hodges

Subs:

T Daly

Alexis

Miller

Pagett

West

Harris and Mason would come into the midfield three (when available), depending on the opposition.

Yesterday's formation was very strange...

Seemed like a back three then Woodruffe as a left wing back, Josias as a right back and Alexis in right midfield with Wilko and Shep in centre mid - seemed a bit strange and stopped Jay from getting forward.

I thought we played pretty well in the first half and simply did not get any luck or favourable decisions. Have not been able to view back their first as this computer is too crap but it looked a foul from our end of the pitch. After we equalised we had a few decent chances particular one where Alexis amd Hodgey got in each others way. I genuinely thought we were unlucky to go in only level. The second half was obviously not so good but that had a lot to do with them scoring after 180 seconds and taking control of the game.

Found it stange that Paget played having not featured in pre-season and I really don't think he is a central defender.

I think we can take a lot of encouragement from a game against one of the pre-season favourites. Roll on Tuesday - ain't it grand to have the season back.
