Steve West has left the club by mutual consent.

A settlement arrangement has been reached between Steve and the club, and he is now free to sign for another club. Steve realised the likelihood of gaining regular first team football was reduced further with the arrival of Jamie Slabber.

We would like to thank Steve for his valuable contribution to last seasons double and we wish him well in the future.

Gone to East Thurrock I believe

Bit of money at that club so not surprised he's gone there. Is Vinny John still there?

Gutted 4 Vinnie, as for Westy couldn't ave happened to a nicer fella (not!)- Nice 2 be proved right for once, Stimpson no fool, just a shame scumbag West had the good fortune 2 fill his boots after our fall in November. Lovely to see a top-man like Johnny Martin making a name for himself in the right manner ,who unlike West deserves any bit of success that comes his way. Conducts himself like a proper pro, something West wouldn't know the meaning of. "We are the Chelsea of NL", couldn't wait 2 jump ship. West a pest and no more.

Nothing against any of the other players who left (comments re Johnny Martin should confirm that), understand mortgages to pay etc etc, but there are ways about doing it, and when the bubble burst there was West jumping ship b4 the dust had even settled. What angers me that here was a guy who broke his leg, had the best medical support (on a par with any pro side) the club afforded to give him, loved his "role" as mouthpiece to the press (up until Hilly wised up to the fact he was a sub and no more) yet left in a manner that rightly earned him condemnation across the board from most Urchins. No Class on & off the field I hope we pass him on the way back up. East Thurrock would have been wiser to spend their hard-earned elsewhere. IMHO of course.
