seems like this has been agreed by all parties to me.

1. WEFC is not a signatory to the 'joint' statement

2. WEFC has not (as yet) issued the 'joint' statement

Looks to me like Anonymous is one of the sh*t stirrers who keep raking up the rent issue, which was what the words "hope" and "it being laid to rest" were all about. The statement was not as it might have been worded by a slick PR agency, but had the ring of truth about as a result.

I am also sure that the Observer reporters would have had a field day if they had checked it out and found it not to be true. What is better news, "the rent has been paid" or "lies have been told by the new company about it being paid?" I'm sure I know which would have made the front page, let alone the back one.

So Anon, take account of the fact that WEFC has NOT issued a further statement denying this statement issued on the STFC website, either.

They had time! Are you calling the new Slough Board liars? The statement looked to me like a statement issued as a result of the meeting, with the intention of trying to respond to the kind of rubbish which was anticipated from you and your ilk. Clearly you are one of those people who is totally anti STFC, are seeking on every occasion to rubbish the club and its supporters, and to besmirch it, regardless of any truth.

You obviously wish stir up a situation of which clearly you have no more knowledge than the rest of us. Thank goodness WEFC is in the hands of more honourable people.

So crawl back down your sewer and get used to the idea, STFC will be playing at Stag Meadow for the coming season. We're sorry if this causes you grief, but I'm sure you can go and find some other faeces down there to feast on.

I am glad about the statement and hope all is well between the two clubs. I like the rivalry between the two clubs and a season would not be the same without it. I hope Slough manage to go on as long as possible.

 

I also like the banter between the two sets of fans on the message board there is certainly some passionate points raised and the message board would be quiet without.

I am sorry if you find the analogy of the sewer a bit strong for your sensitive nature, but bluntly it does not even remotely compare to the offensiveness of the allegations in Anon's postings, which are quite clearly intended to impugn the honesty and integrity of its targets. THAT is what is offensive and of the gutter! And if you find those statements acceptable, then I suggest that you need to look at your own values.

2. Don't you find it objectionable that somebody makes anonymous comments inferring that a group of people who are doing their best to keep a football club with a proud history alive in difficult circumstances are cheats and liars - I do. So let's have an answer from you!

3. Don't you find it objectionable that members of this same group keep on and on about this rent issue without ever producing any evidence that the slurs and deliberate misinformation and whispers are true - I do. Again an answer required!

So let Anon either put up or shut up - is he/she accusing the new Board of Slough Town of being liars in the statement and the subsequent Press report based on what they have said? Let see if he or she are brave enough to give the answer they are inferring- I doubt it!

So, I await yet another anodyne and feeble response from both of you!

Please calm down and bear in mind the following facts:

1. This thread was started by a STFC poster on the WEFC board. Without this, the thread would not exist.

2. The subject related to a STFC statement issued on the STFC official website. Without this, the subject relating to a statement would not exist.

3. Most of the posts in the thread seem to come from STFC regular posters.

4. The claimed WEFC posters who have contributed have had only positive things to say.

5. Anyone who responds to a post he or she perceives to be antagonistic (especially with abuse or invective) is only giving the poster what they want.

6. As far as I can see, there has been no attempt by anyone connected to or supporting WEFC to initiate any recent debate on the so-called rent issue. No-one has initiated a thread about it on the WEFC board until Gary-STFC on 18/08. I assume Gary-STFC is a follower of STFC.

7. As far as I can see, there has been no attempt by any officials of WEFC to raise this issue, and the only mention of it on either website appeared on the STFC website on 18/08.

8. I have not seen any WEFC posters with a reference to the rent issue given in their permanent forum signatures, as you seem to have.

9. Why would anyone wishing to impune the integrity of STFC use the message board of another club? How would they know that their target would be reading it? Surely they would go straight to the STFC board? If you look, there is nothing there.

10. All posts on these boards are anonymous, since usernames are freely chosen and not subject to identity checks.

11. No-one has accused anyone of being a cheat or a liar in this thread. You were the first to use these words. If you inferred these accusations from your reading of the debate, then that says something about you. In fact, the only substantive area of debate has been that the statement was a bit strange in that it sought to preempt a newspaper story, and that it was labelled as joint but only came from one club. The first comment is an entirely reasonable opinion, and the second a provable fact. How does this become an accusation of liars and cheats?

12. The best advice for exploring football club message boards is to do it with good humour and not with a paranoid desire to find things to get indignant about. It may be righteous to you, but you do not see yourself as others see you. If you cannot read negative comments without experiencing a raging desire to retaliate, it is better to start your own forum and restrict members to only those people who agree with you completely.

Andrew S, you are anonymous to me, but I'm sure you are a nicer person than your posts suggest, and football really is trivial in the great scheme of things, so relax and have a nice day.

I find it quite funny that you think the innuendo contained in the postings by Anon is OK, but take exception to me challenging it - but that is what apologists do I suppose.

 

You may think that the matter is trivial, but the statement was made in good faith by people who have been trying to ensure that honour is satisfied and the rent involving a substantial sum of money is paid. Suggesting that this is not true is NOT trivial, if you will pardon the double negative.

 

I don't often have a rant, but seeing snide remarks being made implying that hard working STFC people are liars and I'm sorry but there is no other way you can interpret the posts, seems to me to be something that is worth challenging, even if it doesn't matter to people like you. You are right that the Windsor posters were positive, and I have every respect for them, but I don't have any respect for people who try and undermine and disparage others undeservedly whilst cloaked in anonymity, do you?

 

So thank you for your advice, but may I give you some, don't be afraid to challenge something which is wrong, evil only triumphs when good men do nothing, as the quote says.
