With all the talk about us playing with a 3-5-2 system and it not working with mistake after mistake did anybody take note last night that aldershit was playing with 3-5-2 maybe that is true you cannot play with 3 at the back at this level!!!!

Did we not revert to 3-5-2 by taking Bimson off for Keeling? Or was Clarke meant to be the one to drop back!

And what formation did we end up playing? Too much is made of a rigid system, you need to adapt to whatever situation arises.

im not sure but most of the time we had bimsom, duffy, chenery and theobald at the back so as i understand it we was playing with 4 at the back to start with anyway!!

We started with four - Duffy, Chenery, Theobald and Bimson.

 

Reverted to three - Duffy, Chenery, Theobald

 

Then finish with four - Duffy, Chenery, Theobald, Sterling.

I thought that Clarkey reverted to left back when Bimson went off

Yep I did see Clarke drop back.

 

I was suprised when they brought Bimson off but I suppose they wanted to push and win the game. It seemed to pay off and once we had our nose in front Sterling was brought back on to make the defence solid again - as mat says "good tactics"

 

My worry is Chenners and Theobald when Bimson and Duffers push forward up the pitch and how they start to organise themselves to cover if it goes tits up. We tried it last year with Sterling and a number of times he lost the ball and we were placed under pressure. The good thing is Bimson and Duffers distribute the ball well and look to hold the ball - unlike Sterling or Chenners when they go forward.

It's nicer to think it was our managements tactics that won us the game however rather than a simple cold <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
