Daish out!!!

Recommended Posts

My support for Fordy is well documented, and disagreed wholeheartedly with those calling for his head last season.

These are now, in the main, the same voices calling for Daishs' head.

It was their voices that have caused this predicament in the first place, and its a costly business hiring and firing managers. This money would have been much better spent backing Fordys judgement and giving him the support ( like a no.2 ) when he needed it.

I didn't agree with his appointment then, and still don't. This was the reason I did not renew my season ticket this year. ( Altho this will cost me more in the long run, as I will still attend every game possible )

Indeed...Daish out. Hence why my mate didn't renew his season ticket and why I won't attend games anymore when Gills play away. Daish is tactically inept and has not got a clue on who to buy. You are in for a very long season and unless you get rid of him pronto your full-time status will look a joke. Personally I was laughing when he said you're one of the fittest teams in the league just cause you signed 6 full-time players. He is a joke for a manager.

I think this from the "latest score" thread answers your question!

I'm also in the DAISH OUT camp & was not somebody who ever suggested that Andy Ford should leave.

Personally I was devastated when he left.

There have been too many errors from Daish but here's 3 of the worst

a) Jukebox & Manny not automatically selected.

B) 2 good keepers last season none this season

c) Poor signings e.g. Gooding

The board must remove Daish sooner rather than later to give his replacement a chance.

Here's hoping that Canvey will be his last game.

I for one, am holding judgement until we have played at least 10 more games. I realise that this squad is new (in essence) and it will take a while for it to 'gel'.. As for calling for Daish's head..! Well, the start of the season is always filled with problems/teething trouble, so let's give the fella (and squad) a chance.. If we are still bottom of the table at the end of Oct then we should be and have a right to be seriously concerned.. I'm sure Liam is feeling a bit (no.. a lot) sheepish about this start, but he must be confident in our abilities and strengths else he would of happily walked away..!!! Come on Fleet, let's spank Canvey and re-install some confidence back to your fans..!!!

I have to agree - especially since, as I've said before, the comments emanating from both the board and Andy in the aftermath of his departure suggested that the whole thing was potentially a preventable misunderstanding.

That said, there's no contradiction in both wishing at the time that Andy hadn't left and feeling that Daish has to be given a few more matches to sort things out, and I would put myself in both camps.

Get real Nello! Realistically there is no way financially that the Club would at this early stage in the campaign terminate the manager's fixed term contract which would have to be paid up. Then we would have to find the wages for his replacement too. The Board will keep a close eye on the results but don't expect any movement to replace the current managerial team unless results are still dire at least 10 games into the season. Hopefully Liam will have recognised from Tuesday night that his choice of players are not playing as a real team and do something about it immediately. If he doesn't or can't then we really are in trouble! This will include giving greater prominence to more of last seasons team. So far I haven't noticed that the new full time players are playing any better than the retained part timers. If this remains the case in, say, 5 games time, the wisdom of going " fulltime " with this particular manager at this stage must be questioned.

I take back my pre-season prediction of us being relegated by November with this manager and collection of players - I amend my prediction to October !

This is a digrace - being thrashed by Grays.

If action isn't taken soon we will become the league's whipping boys !

And for Daish publically criticises his players in the press shows the sort of guy he is ..... however bad your team plays, you defend them in public and take the rap as their manager

Poor manager + unfocussed team = relegation

And in that you've summed it up, i.e. we've had ONE bad game. A pretty disastrous one, admittedly, but I think I'll see what the next few games bring forth before jumping to such silly conclusions.
